I was a bit surprised about Michael's comment that they haven't fully succeeded in running ED on XBO yet.

It's a syndicated article, the original appear in the official xbox print magazine a month ago. The actual visit was likely a couple of week before the print date as well.

I suspect they're experiencing mild corporate panic after the Valve VR stuff went down so well. They can't noodle around with the technology forever if there are other big players approaching market.
