Ship integrity in 1.3

That's very high, I hope it's a bug. I wouldn't mind if they made the prices higher but this is too much...

Maybe it's to balance the higher income from missions, and possibly from powerplay (I still don't know how much you earn from PP)?
Diddly squat. Literally nothing. The finance missions, which you think would make the most money but be the most boring, net you 100 credits a ton. And you can only get 10 tons at rank 1, or 50 at best.

Mathematically it seems like 0.5% of original purchase price per percent. So repairing from 0-100 is 50% of purchase price.

Almost positive this is a bug. Limped home from a conflict zone at 50% hull integrity in my Conda and paid around 30,000 credit repair bill.

it's probably some kind of mathematics error when dealing with low amount of damage.

so, uh, don't repair hull I suppose until you get really beat up.

This sounds very correct for *repair*, no bug here I think. 30k sounds very adequate.

We are talking about *tear and wear* which impacts integrity of hull of the ship. You repair it in different place.

Yep, the 81 lightyear trip (5 jumps I think) from 78 Ursae Majoris to Wolf 406 cost me 1% wear & tear. Which will cost me 284,891 credits to repair. That's more than 56,000 per jump.

Skru that. I'm not paying that bill. I am buying a DB and parking my Python, at least for now.

*cough* Okay... i have seen people complaining regarding fuel cost increase during beta. But on my usual route that was 1K creds at best, so nothing worth mentioning. Can quite remember paying arround 40K for my Python back then. But nearly 800K in repair costs for structural integrity - for 1% to be repaired. Seems a bit steep and i certainly hope thats not intended. Can't imagine, that would be a kick right into the balls for Explorers and, as it most likely gets more expensive the bigger the ship is, also Traders. If it would take "ages" to loose 1% under normal conditions, no problem. But right now thats about 6 point to point trips making an, under subpar conditions, impact of up to 30% of what you earned meanwhile. Won't stop me from playing, and i still think thats not intended. But if FD thinks there should be an increase, at least lower it to arround half *sigh*

Took the Conda out for a trip to the local RES for some BH (and that's a different story). Made about 800k CR in the RES. Came back, and the bill for the ship integrity at 99% is....734k CR.

I'm calling time out on 1.3 for now.

Anaconda base price: 146,969,451 cr
0.5% of base price: 734,847 cr
times 3% wear and tear: 2,204,541 cr

Seems more and more plausible that is the math used.

If this is working as intended it's time to park the old girl and ask for some cheese to go with my whine while this is remedied.

Yeah, I think I'll be staying in the Courier until they figure this nonsense out.

I think what happened was that people complained about repair costs being too low, and for some bizarre reason the FDs thought they meant Ship Integrity repair, when what people meant was DAMAGE repair.

So they jacked up Ship Integrity.

Unfortunately now players are disastrously dis-incentivized to use any ship larger than a Vulture. Hopefully they'll tweak this a bit more. Honestly, ship integrity was too high in 1.2--you couldn't take large ships to the secondary stars in most binary pairs without losing most of your profit. It's combat-damage repairs that needed to be bumped up, not wear&tear maintenance.

I think it's just a bug. You can't do anything with your ship but lose money unless you're trading a very profitable route in a very big ship. You'll lose money doing anything else unless you're only using a small to medium sized ship. In a largish medium sized ship and above you won't be able to buy anything but repairs. It makes them useless.
