The game is what you make it, I can easily find plenty of traders and bounty hunters, so the gane is not starved for pvp action. If I went out into less traveled systems I'm sure that wouldn't be the case. No, it isn't as much a PvP game as a PvE game. Until you realize and acknowledge this you're not going to find any traction on this argument.
Have you ever interdicted anything? I can tell, unless you get a perfect interdiction placement, it takes a little while to get your target lined up afterwards. I can't even count the number of times my target was already out of firing range before I even knew it. If I didn't have a clipper they would have escaped for good.3 boosts? I'm going to be charitable here and assume that the universe is simply oozing with Type 6s which have A-class power distributors and engines, but do you know how much damage a combat rated Anaconda can do in the time it takes to boost 3 times?
Again, an fdl cannot mass lock a type 9. Submit and that's 10 seconds for your fsd to comeback online, and 5 seconds to jump out. 15 seconds - however long it takes for the fdl to line you up in his crosshairs, 3 seconds minimum. I'm pretty sure the fdl can survive 12 seconds of fire from an fdl. At least if he has decent shields, a booster or 2, and maybe chaffs. If you're out pirating in an Asp it's going to be rigged for combat, not trade. And if, as you say, you're DOA running into an FDL in a combat specced Asp then I don't know why you think a trade specced Type 9 has a chance. This looks to me like a classic case of rationalization.
