Okay... the update was a quick download... but I still can't connect to the server. Has there been a delay on getting the servers back online?

Well, there's two sides to this for an Explorer... 1. It sucks if you're way out and almost at your destination. 2. It's pretty cool if you have millions of Credits in exploration data you can just hand in without spending hours upon hours making the trek back.

No mention if you have your data or not..... I think not.

doe's this mean i lose any rank ups i have made since 1.3 not acceptable

"To address problems from the above issue, all minor faction influence levels in all star systems have been reset back to their state just before the release of 1.3
For those Commanders affected by the problems with military ranks, their Federation and Empire progression has been restored to the state just before the release of 1.3"

Hahaha, omg I can't stop laughing. Oh lawd I can't breath, how deliciously evil, lmao.

By system influence I think they mean factioninflu.jpg
Looks like I'll be grinding to Baron again... in a Clipper!

It all seams like you should maybe fix the bugs rather than the graphics.
.
I.E fix bugs 1 to 100 and so on, like fix them first then maybe it will be a lot easier to add new content and not have to work out how you made the bugs more complicated to fix.

Assuming the patch notes are accurate and the fixes are a success, it's addressed all of my problems.

With the game, anyway.

Any chance you can let people keep there ranks in the Empire or Federation? Seems harsh to demote them.

When they have to reset to a previous state - I can tell you from working in software - the release completely ruined the database. There was no fixing.... there had to be an unrecoverable state for those that attempted the bugged progression missions. Same for those with the hyperspace crash/unable to load issue.

These are what we would call 'showstoppers' - the release should have been cancelled until this was fixed (if it was unseen prior to the release - then there is a hole in the QA process); this would be marked as a failed release in my industry. :( Don't worry Frontier - we had one of those ourselves last week. Must have been bad mojo out (we hadn't had a failed release in YEARS prior to last week)......

Guess you only got rolled back if you had a problem.....

So, basically ship integrity costs are still completely stupid, but you've 'fixed' the ranks that most of us have just worked our collective backsides off to progress with over the last week?

Gee thanks.

- Commanders who cannot load back into the game after a certain type of Hyperspace failure should be automatically rescued to the last system they safely docked in.

This has got to be the single most scary line an explorer has ever seen. Please confirm that this will not suddenly bring someone back 50,000ly or be exploitable to get back straight away after a long trip!

Hang on, perhaps this is a retrospective fix for players who had a hyperspace failure and were not able to log back in since, rather than applying to all future play sessions for all players? Some clarity needed.

EDIT: let's be honest - these patch notes are written in "Programmer" not English :)

Might be pretty cool for you, I would consider it game over.

This has been fixed with 1.3.01. It will work on missions that are accepted after 1.3.01 is released.

If it's not in the notes, I'm going to assume it's not been touched, as will most other people. That ten page bug thread is gonna skyrocket (not to mention the poor mods merging all the new threads people start because they can't use the search function) and there's likely to be some anger generated in the general forums.

Yes it must concern only people that had problems to ranking up or loosing it for no reason.

- Fix faction influence levels when many factions experience significant influence drops in a given star system

To address problems from the above issue, all minor faction influence levels in all star systems have been reset back to their state just before the release of 1.3

is that saying the bgs is no longer confused when minor factions expand , or is it just a history based limit to the influence change ?
