Was RES really ever that enjoyable? Sure, it made you the best money for bounty hunting, but once you could afford a vulture it was like watching the paint drying in your T9 cockpit after your hundredth return trip to planet GoldAndSlaves
This is Bad omen for RES?What I'm afraid of at the moment is that with E3 the complete next week we will not see a patch for the RES in this time.

It's not for bounty hunters, it's for miners and pirates.
High Intensity = Low security
Low Intensity = High security
Regular RES = Medium security
I'm not sure if it was ever intended to be a bounty hunting spot, but my gut tells me that a place chock full of miners, resources and pirates was not intended to be a scenic battle arena.
I'd love to have planetary rings with hidden rock hermits, and outposts only 30 or so KM above the rings, operated by pirates. Especially in ice rings.
It'd make great opportunities for hunters and pirates alike![]()
It was actually the only thing I found enjoyable in this game. Trading is so tedious and boring I never want to do it again and exploring got real boring real fast (look a star, look some planets, look some more planets, a blue star wow, more planets, another star, etc. etc.)
I guess I want more "game" in my games. I do expect this game will eventually have content though which is why I bought the mercenary pack, but until then the only thing I enjoy is finding a good RES instance, putting on some music and killing pirates for profit.
I haven't even logged in since Powerplay. I'm not interested in it and my only ingame activity was nerfed, so why bother?
I agree 100%. The only thing I enjoyed was the fighting. I've logged in two times since PP and at this point probably won't play again until they do something to fix it.
Are the RES still classed as broken, or was today's patch meant to have fixed them? Because they still seem to be not very good at all in terms of activity and conflict going on there...
RES sites are not the end all and be all of bounty hunting. Those are/were a barrel shoot. The real action is in SC. I have been making credits hand over fist, compared to BH in 1.2, since PP dropped. I finally fit up an Interdictor, take to the skies and burn up some wanted targets. Grab some BH missions from a Bulletin Board, jump the the correct system, and bam, you're making credits. When I hear the drone about RES's all I hear is "I need a Farm".

Interdicting a single ship is like clubbing a baby seal.
I haven't read the past few pages, just skipped to last, but I just want to remind everyone that RES is no longer for bounty hunters, it's for miners mainly, and pirates (logical path). The rewards are increased, and we don't want to swarm the miners with huge amounts of NPC pirates.
EDIT: Fighting among asteroids IS awesome. I'd like to see rock hermits and the like in future updates, but I'm glad RES have returned to their rightful owners.
Bounty hunting is still VERY profitable. It goes hand in hand with the mission system now, and rightly so. If your idea of bounty hunting is sit and wait for easy targets to float past, you aren't a bounty hunter, you're a farmer.
dingdingding
The missions system lets you stack multiple pirate kill missions on top of another, and earn kills for them all simultaneously. Grab 10 missions for killing pirates. Kill 15 pirates, turn them all in at once. That's a bad system.
It's less about being a farmer and more about providing security for the miners. The pirates are attacking and you are defending. Makes perfect sense. The constant stream of attackers makes sense because the ones you are killing are sending distress signals to their buddies who are coming to help.
