Setting off from Galileo after this morning's server update, and a final marmite on toast... the food replicator in my ageing T6 isn't up to the task anymore. Given real-world commitments back on Sol system this won't be a speed run, but I will aim to get there and back in time for Buckyball 8 later in July!

If anyone is running over the next few weeks, I'll hopefully com across you on the intergalactic spaceways. See you at Sadge!

Lucky

Nice choice of ship ;)

Good luck and fly safe CMDR!

CMDR: SARRDIS
Ship Name: The Razorback
Ship Type: Asp Explorer

Made it to the Sag Sunday morning.

Total Time: 18 hours, 16 minutes, and 46 seconds

Victory Quote: "A
d astra per aspera"

Congrats CMDR!

well 6k and just over 5.5 hours later, I don't think we are looking at a speed run here. Still not too bad thus, but given the joy of real life I think I can aim to complete next week, ideally Tuesday all being well.

I don't quite think I had realised what an achievement everyone else has done - 18 hours, 9 hours, 20 days - it's a heck of an achievement to get there! Hopefully, I shall be joining you all shortly.

I quite agree that it's a heck of an achievement just to get there. It doesn't matter how long you take, it's still worthy of a bumper sticker :D
Good luck on your run!

Whoo! All right so obviously people are still interested in making this a thing. That being the case, I took it upon myself to head back to Eotienses for a face-to-face with Senator Patreus and see about getting the BBRA* bumper stickers back. I have to give credit where credit is due. Senator Patreus was a gracious host and kept to his word, bringing the confiscated bumper stickers to the meet and agreeing to release them if I apologized for the small misunderstanding about the parking ticket the last time I was in port. I conceded that my response wasn't the most mature reaction a CMDR could have had and that it was irresponsible to try and inflame tempers during an already volatile situation in the galaxy by writing "Denton Patreus can suck it" on the ticket and digitally signing it as Felicia Winters.

So there's good news! The bumper stickers are back in stock! Anybody who's finished the BBRA* after 17 June, send me your address and receive thy bounty!

And the bad news. When I returned to my ship after my visit with the senator, I found I had been ticketed again for illegal parking, even though the Senator himself had validated my permit. Lo and behold the ticketing officer once again failed to write-protect the violation, and long story short, Zemina Torval has just asked Denton Patreus via a parking ticket to "get your hot buns over to Synteini so I can butter them up" and then I ran out of space.

Upon reflection, not the most mature thing I could have done, but that's what the man gets for engaging in theft.

On a related note, here's the proof for the BBR8 bumper sticker. Fair warning... we might get in a little trouble for this one.

Wooo Hooo!

With BBR6 I hadn't got a clue what I was doing, didn't really appreciate the benefits of increasing jump range via weight reduction, dismissed fuel scoops as being a waste of time, came one from last.

Missed BBR7 entirely (I forget why).

BBRA I took seriously (come on, flying all the way to Sag A*? you'd be crazy to just wing it right?). Got a very respectable 15h22m.

BBR8? Bring it. I am ready.

Heading back to Galileo tomorrow - See you at Sadge CMDR Rusticulus. :D

I got back in the bubble yesterday and have been loitering as a fuel rat since. I will get stripped back to rally spec and head over to Galileo later today. I am looking forward to it...I think :D

(Although I should probably really be using the time to practice docking!)

Hmm, docking. Guess I need to get some practice in for BBR8 as docking is not something I do a lot of. I managed to fly 52 kylies at considerable pace with only 2% hull damage (and that due to fuel rat chat distractions on my way back), then knocked another 8% off as I, ahem, 'stopped' at the landing pad...

Oh... Oh yes. I like the look of this. (Even though my being pledged to a power is going to make it infinitely more difficult :D)
Even better, Day 2 is my birthday!

As an aside... I really like how several of the powers appear to have gained red noses on the sticker. Excellent work. :D

Just 9k and a bit light=years away! Wow it looks different in the Core. Some interesting screenshots. Hope the servers are back up soon - I was hoping to try and finish tomorrow now, but it might not be the case.

Incidently - is all the basic scan data worth anything? I mean we will be talking a combined 52,000 light years worth of data (unless I detail scan some of it on the way back) - gotta be at least 2,000 systems there.

Aborting my run until at least tomorrow...

The server issues have meant that I've not been able to get back to the starting line yet. :(

CMDR: Niyone
Ship: Adder
Ship Name: Quadrel Shambler

Going to attempt a run this weekend. Not the ship I was hoping to use, but got to start somewhere.

CMDR: Edelgard von Rhein
Ship Name: Hippogriff
Ship Type: Federal Dropship
Should start later this morning, depending on how long it takes me to find the right modules (especially the A6 fuel scoop).

Suya has the A6 in stock - good luck CMDR!

EDIT: Progress update I'm a kylie off of half way

I want to be super excited for this. As it looks like it would be an incredible amount of fun to participate in.
Not to mention the exposure on Radio Sidewinder from an In Race coverage by myself.

Regrettably I'm currently on a spiritual sabbatical down on the surface of Earth at the Ancient city of San Diego.
My projected time of return isn't until after this marvelous event has taken place.

Hooray! I was wondering if I'd have to buy a Dropship to let us complete the set :D

Best of luck CMDR!

Had to abort with 9k left. I encountered what I think was a pulsar and a white star together (I think there might have been a couple more) and ended up escaping with 320% heat and 35% hull integrity - too risky to continue now.

Servers are really slow and stuttering now too, which they were when I ran into the pulsar so it could have contributed. Pretty scary all told! Now the long haul back home
