I know I'm personally not posting at the moment guys, but it's simply because I don't have much to add that would be of help. I am reading every single word though.

Although I can grasp where a lot of this train of thought is going and it may indeed provide the answer, my guts are still telling me it's "easier/simpler" than all this. Although I could be very wrong.

What we really need is a hint, I don't really buy the whole "we can't give you any-more hints" vibe........we've only really had "listen to it".

COME ON FD GIVE US A BLOODY CLUE...........please :D

Hmmm, but do you really want a hint? I've been following this on and off; It'll mean more without the hint! ;-)

Trying to write this without sounding condescending. Have we tried "what" with base 5 or base 12?

Numbers in a different base are still just numbers - a representation of a specific value. What is it you think we'd need to assume was in a different base? What do we have that has 12 or 5 states to interpret?

Thats the thing. Overthinking might not solve the problem. But it helps to find patterns. Patterns that are independant from any numerical system.

For example: the purrs are always different. Even when there are two UAs at the same position and time the Purrs are different. No matter if this "purrs" would hide a binary number or a decimal number or a hex number. The purrs would need to stay the same or at least repeat at some point. But they do not. If you can't get any reproducable code/output to decrypt from the ua the number system is irrelevant.

Thats why the first thing to do in my opinion is always to find some kind of pattern.

I would settle for just confirmation that we are heading in the correct direction.

Well this is the thing.

If there is nothing more to it and it's role is simply to add a bit of flavour/background of what's to come, they cannot say anything. Or at least it's probably not in their interest to say anything.

And to be honest, for me this IS a possible interpretation of what Kerrash has said previously about (in his words) as to why Frontier don't want to give any more clues.

Perhaps I shouldn't talk of such blasphemy.

Hi Guys,
It is my sad duty to report [...] I mistakenly jettisoned the ua into super cruise thinking I was in normal space.

Too bad we can't jettison one in witch space...

I haven't tried putting the UA together with other canisters, but I did try putting Tea and Coffee together the other night.
It was afwul.

OK just to add something :

This is from the plaque on one or more of the Pioneers.

Maybe you can figure out the meaning without viewing the spoiler? Carl Sagan thought it was easy. ;-)

The binary numbers above and below the planets show the relative distance to the Sun. The unit is 1/10 of Mercury's orbit. Rather than the familiar "1" and "0", "I" and "-" are used.

That was what I tought as well. I was even quite happy with the morse easter egg.
Then Kerrash drops in to the thread and tells us it's more.
I hardly think he would lie to us.

Carl Sagan was an awesome scientist and a genius, but that's not easy at all to understand.
But perhaps we really do not want to be found...

An (not so) new approach for you again:

>"the first thing to do in my opinion" How about find/demand new UA's first, Sir?
If the last two are gone the mystery is accomplished.

I'm not to be able to relate to the requests for hints as not enough toys are on the table.
Again only for one or two player and the rest watch Youtube & Twitch? Thank's then I'm out ...

Hi CMDR's,

I have a theory. It may have already been tested but bare with me.

In the old games (correct me if im wrong) i believe that the Thargoids pulled players out of hyperspace. If this is true, have people just tried keeping the UA in their cargo hold for as long as possible.

My theory is that as long as you have the UA in your cargo hold maybe theres a change you will get "interdicted" or pulled out of witchspace or whatever.
Maybe even jumping to a certain system or something?

Anyway, this is my 2 cents. I would love to know everyone's thoughts.

Cheers all.

People doing tests here, Wishblend and Ratking for example, are (were...) carrying UAs in their cargo bays for ages, bringing them all around the galaxy... so...
