I color coded repeating segments, but it really looks completely random :/

There are more binary data in the "sound engineers" thread.
I'm afraid it's no patern there either.
Plus, the baud rate is to low.

At what level did you backed it? If 150 pounds, then you are founder of pilot federation, and you get Founder level missions in game. See post previously about very interesting one with exploration goal.

No result as far as I can see it still looks just pseudo-random ie no apparent pattern. We were hoping for a short repeating cycle to appear, it didn't (over 3 iterations).

I've watched this video. But honestly, is that all?
Besides some random blinking in the beginning I've seen nothing that comes even remotely close to a thorough morse test.
They probably expect some more intelligent contact, the guy in that video is kidding the UA.

Sorry, the guy was me. All I could do spur of the moment was SOS. And your ship lights are not very responsive, so it makes flashing anything out kinda frustrating. I've tried serious messages to the UA over comms ("we come in peace", "take me to your leader", etc.). The UA doesn't seem to care about anything that is said.

Well the UA's appear inside strong signal sources.

Inside a strong signal source you'll sometime find military style convoys with Type 9s and Anacondas, if cargo scanned the Type 9 may show an "Unknown Artefact".

It's said that when yo get the right convoy you can hear the convoy pilots talking over local about the weird item and concerns about why their systems are malfunctioning!

It's been eating 100% locally-produced genuine Gutamaya ever since I found it (aka eating my Courier as I run around with it).

Thanks! Please check the post again though, I had to correct a couple mistakes. First sequence starts with high, not low, and the 3rd sequence has a couple mistakes.
I would still like if someone else could go over it again.

So far: 32 unique symbols in 11 sequences. Total number of symbols: 68. [I am ignoring the one that has a missing a purr.] 25 symbols are 6 purrs long, the other 53 are 5 purrs long. There are 15 unique 6-purr-symbols, and 17 unique 5-purr-symbols. Disclaimer: I may have miscounted.

2^5 is 0..31, 2^6 is 0..63

It bothers me that the symbols differ in length.

Is that real? It gets me |0101101|001011|1001101|0110011|0101101| - that is, mostly 7-purr-sequences... (1=high, 0=low)

Ah so not a mission for Founders.

My line of thinking is that you take this mission and a UA spawn becomes available to you inside a SS in the target system (if you sit and look for it).

in other words the UA is the source of the mysterious crystals which the mission giver suspects may be some sort of "map".

(see blue twinkling things leaking from the UA, ie the UAs leaking brain!)

I guess you have Elite exploration?

I could get it Elite exploration and try this out, I think it would take me ~two weeks given my current rank though.

Probably another dead end though.

Don't hold your breath though, I don't think they are spawning today. Been on it for about 6 hrs today, not a sausage.

edit: I've started ramming the gold-trap-cant-believe-they-fell-for-that instance out of pure frustration.
