I totally agree with you: the word "OVERTHINKING" is always bouncing in my head. That should be simple, very simple.
And the fact that FD said they cannot give us anymore clues should make us think...
because the next clue is the solution: something like let it decay (for daygobah), or "sell it!", or "shoot it", even transporting it somewhere could be overthinking, because they could give us another clue in this case, like:"have you tried taking it somewhere?", because there are 400 billions stars out there, so somewhere could be like nowhere...
It remembers me very much the hunt for the Titan Black... where no code was involved at all, just an almost random system to find...

That's unintelligible voice audio from the nearby station from what I can tell, nothing to do with the UA - "atmospherics" put in to make the station sound alive.
Sorry but it's not.
I've checked two videos made by Ratking15 in the middle of nowhere, with no stations, and the sound was still there.
MOST OF ALL, the sound is present only when you are very close to the UA, then it disappears when you step back!
It's not a background ambient noise, sorry. It's a background noise of the UA. It's not voice audio at all, I know that distorted voice audio
you're talking about, I'm alway hearing it outside of stations!

Haha....I haven't missed a beat on here. Sometimes it pays to just step right back and think......hasn't helped at all so far though.
Also real life has had me out of action to some degree, my recent "in game" has been my Python sitting in a station while I'm AFK for a couple of hours. I have spent whatever time I had in SSS though......no UA.....Made Dangerous rank though due to some of the hairy situations I have found myself in. It's done wonders for my totally out numbered and out gunned combat tactics.
Oh and for me yes it's related to the outbreaks of disease.....it releases "spores" to my eyes. Also it's emergence was around the time of the out break at....was it HE BO?
And also for me IT IS alien, or at very least hybrid Alien/Human tech..........

Yes.....and I have always said as much....no proof of course, and as I have repeatedly said we must explore EVERY path to find a way out of this maze, however my gut thoughts have changed little and I have posted to that effect many times.
I thought Wishblend had it though for a moment with the "Hotter/Colder" theory....
*Edit* I should also mention that the first time I saw it I would of sworn it looked like it was phasing in and out of our dimension (or something)........bringing whatever it was ejecting in from who knows where. (Cue Twilight Zone Music)

Mycoid virus dispencer has come up a few times.
Ya my problem is after a 100 posts its all new to me again.
I was actually liking it more for the physical structure of the artefact. It conforms to what has already been identified as a cargo-pod stacking system - but smaller. I am really liking the idea of a dispenser or launcher of those little tharglet thingies attached to it. Still wrestling with the emissions and markings tho 
I can't check at the minute - @ work, but if you join up the 3 locations on the map (where the disease has spread), does it forma a triangle around any unusual stars, or even form a nice straight(ish) line along which we can follow, or even a big pointy arrow pointing at a location (a bit desperate that one I know)
just a quick thought, what if this whole thing is a lot simpler than we think. back when diablo 3 came out (don't shun me) there were pages of a diary that referenced the show "Lost". everyone there thought there was something more but that's all it was.
i know FD said that there is more to these but what if they are just waiting for us to figure out what the UA is and submit a galnet post to confirm it as the trigger.
