My intention is to find out just how many SAP8 containers it takes to change the UA sound from 5/6 PRS to 3 purrs at a place I know we've tried before.

First thing I've noticed is that the yellow HUD elements of the DBX canopy don't change when you have cargo on our not.

Have read for ages you found these " pavonis ear grubs". Try it out: scan before/while docking and after. Maybe some new occur ...

yeah, tracked it back to Delta Pavonis but the system is run by a faction that bans the commodity so until the system is flipped it won't be available will get to work on that at some point

A little historical note - not sure if this is relevant - a character string of RYRYRYRYRYRYRYR was often sent to test the timing/synchronisation of the circuit. R=01010 and Y=10101.

R's or Y's next to each other in the received string showing up at regular intervals allowed the timing mismatch to be calculated and corrected.

head to an anarchy system and check out a few SSS there, when you get a convoy wait for it to charge fsd then when you think its close to jumping shoot the t-9, the escorts should jump out leaving you with the t-9 all by itself, easy

Just, really, really well done on keeping the momentum up, staying positive, open minded and, well, many of the world's nations could learn a thing or two from you lot!

People will join the cause (welcome to some new faces in the last few days - you know who you are ), and people will drift off, spent of ideas, but the speed with which things are moving, theories being thought up, challenged, tested, etc is exactly how we'll get to the bottom of this - if there is a bottom to get to!

Either way - there's a symbolic link there between the UA and this Cerberus Phage idea, with three banks of pods, and the similarity with a 'real' phage, as the Wiki link demonstrated yesterday.

But what are we saying? It's the cause? Or the cure?

Or... it's an alien supplied cure, and there's some cooperation going on at a politically higher level than we currently know of...

I still think you should test the tablets "up side down" as well.

That would make the into. glyph the same for both tablets.
There seems to be 3 dots on the bottom of these glyphs.

Follow them - make notes of which system(s) they go to - draw a line through the dots - extend the line in both directions - you should get an approximation of both where they've been and where they're going....assuming they're taking the shortest possible route.

This thread is brilliant, I check it several times a day. One thing I can't help but think - the message everyone is trying to crack here was designed by human minds, our own species from our own planet and our own time. Imagine how hard it will be to decipher a message from another species altogether, should we ever get one from an alien civilization!

Meantime, I can't wait to see what develops next here, and to find out what is behind the great mystery! Thank you to all for their hard work on this.

I didn't consider purrs that weren't on their own - so any that are hidden in a 'honk' aren't included. I couldn't easily identify them without speeding up the sound - which is not something I think is reasonable to expect is to have to do.

I also don't think that if you do include them that it really changes my 'findings' (or lack thereof) at all...

Thanks for reading, though - to be honest, I can't help thinking it's just a massive wall of blarney!

Yes, I was wondering something similar myself.

If FD have been trying to drop hints to us, I wonder if these plague CGs are something.
The He Bo CG was around the time we found the first UAs, the previous plague CG was around the time mrtree found another UA and we started making progress with the morse code.
If they are trying to hint at something with these, then they would appear to be doubling-down with the 3 new plague CGs and the description of the Cerberus virus after some requests for more hints from Arcanonn and others a few days ago.

But if it is a hint, what exactly are they trying to tell us?
I know UAs have been taken to plague systems several times and nothing seems to have popped out.
Should we be searching SSS in these systems for UA or something else?
Should we be selling UA at these systems?
(Not in-game currently, do all three of the new CG stations have black markets?)

I believe the first "plague" outbreak was Peregrina, no? If you have read the new lore, it is doubtful that that was an actual "plague" (although possible I suppose) as opposed to using the warning of a fake plague to prevent people from seeing something which happened there...

Now - no ukeleles, but I did manage to decode a b&w pic of George Formby playing his ukelele, by timeshifting different frequencies of the UA audio by millisecond values calculated by combining parts of the Fib sequence into a polynomial and then playing that into a 48K spectrum into which I'd typed 'Load ""'

When the UA has been recorded (both for sound and video) do you just eject it, then point towards it and record? I was wondering if perhaps the fact that different ships watching it hear it differently is because it only emits a constant set of noises in one direction, i.e. from looking directly down on it from it's "head". Was mainly thinking this as it's been mentioned that some of the sounds seem to fade in and out and as it's rotating this would make sense if listening to it from the side. Where as looking down on it's rotational axis has the same part of the UA pointing to the player all of the time.

Yeah and there's been no real statement from anyone FD as to which path we are on. I wasn't privvy to FFE - but am aware you're somewhat of an expert

Any fictionheads read all the new books? I've got MBs book in my special boxed set, that I've opened once or twice to show to people; and then promptly put away again in the vault (so, not read the book - need to address that!); and I'm a little way into Drew's rather nice 'Reclamation' - but anyone who's read all of them able to say if there's anything in those that can give us a clue where the human race left it with the Thargs in the E timeline?

I remember some of the fiction being discussed on the old thread early on, but can't remember if anything specifically came up about this.

Something doesn't feel right about this UA being the source of the current outbreak(s) - that story immersion could so easily be broken by CMDRs taking it to stations, letting it loose inside (which has been done), and there not being a subsequent outbreak (which there wasn't). Unless the delivery mechanism is more complex than simply letting the UA 'all hang out', and requires weaponising in some way.

Oh noes! I sense another theory involving hafnium poking it's head out over the horizon!
