Trade Logging?

What I mean by trade logging is logging out after hitting the launch button while in the station to save time getting out of the station, and the mass lock area. Don't get my definition confused with trade logging to get past security while carrying illegal cargo, but just to simply save time with the launch procedure.

I am just baffled that people would do this.
It is a (horrible) sign of the times I guess.
And it makes me sad and depressed that people have become this way.

Wow, one minute.
I could save enough time to have another life on the side.

It adds up over time :3
Time is money for a trader. With the time saved I can do an extra run about every hour.

Although, I can see why non-experienced traders would be skeptical of this trade log method.

WHAT they do may be wrong.

But WHY they do it is the same as any min/max gamer.

Some people are happy only needing to put in 33% of the effort as the mix/max type but still get 80+% of a game's goodies, scenarios, stats, whatever

While others, min/maxers, will put in enormous effort to wring the last 3% out of whatever they are trying to max or achieve

The only answer that makes it sad or not sad (other than whether it is bannable or not) - is whether the person truly enjoys the effort vs. reward.

If they do, then I don't find it sad at all - entertainment is in the eye of the beholder.
If they don't, then yes it is sad.

Well if your time is that precious to you, alrighty then. Save that sixty seconds. I can't see this being too important to anyone but the people actually doing it. It feels sad and lame to some degree but not particularly exploitative except if it were used to avoid some kind of security hassles as was mentioned. Do you appear in the NFZ when you Exit-aport out?

Sorry, I am still a noob in Elite acronyms :/ NFZ?

It may be easier to wrap your mind around CR/ hour rather than just looking at it as '1 min - big whoop'

I don't do this, but if I were to, that 1 min saving per segment on my otherwise usual 8 min run translates into 1.1M extra credits per hour

Does this really save people time? Like by how much, 30-90 seconds?

Depending on what you are using, ship-wise, it can save a large amount of time over a day's/week's worth of trading. A type 9 can probably save around 40-75 seconds depending on the thruster grade, per launch.

No Fire Zone.

It usually sets me 10km from the station, so no mass lock, as well as being out of the NFZ :^) This way I can instantly jump to the next system with ease.

This topic always dredges up the most judgmental people. Very odd.

It's going to be OK. Take a deep breath. Nobody was injured whilst optimizing their trading time.

Beyond the time saving, the fact that from launch to hyperspace is one of the most likely segments for a pilot to destroy their ship through error, it is much more beneficial than "just the minute"... Tired and trade zombied could equal a 15Mcr loss in an L9 if you stack it on the way out of the station fully loaded with Imp Slaves for example.

It usually sets me 9.5km from the station, so no mass lock, as well as being out of the NFZ :^) This way I can instantly jump to the next system with ease.

That's pretty far out; not in a FAR OUT MAN way but distance-wise. Could easily be abused by wanted criminals looking to exit a weapons-hot station and its security, but IDK how FD would resolve it since it's primarily a mechanism to prevent a horrible horrible death by rematerialization inside the station superstructure after a disconnect or such. Probably not a burning crisis however you slice it though.

I'm not sure the time gained just to exit stations by logging is worth it. Maybe for someone who is starting and doesn't know really well how to fly but otherwise, no. Even if you gain 10 seconds with slow ships it's juste a hassle.

Hey, if someone doesn't want to make an extra 300k-600k cr/hour (or however much your trade drop gives) i'm not stopping them :p

Personally, I take that minute and a half to play this

during my launch sequence. The explosions near the end tend to time out to my witchspace jump.
