An entire day of work and 2 mil cr gone

i've posted that vid before but the way it is now there are some circumstances when bumping into someone is practically inevitable

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Wf9sOQbYE

basically you have to go <100 m/s all the way till station or you sometimes are just bound to get some nasty surprises

if you do hit something close or at letterbox then that's your own responsibility though, as if you decide going over >100 m/s you better watch radar for any incoming ships

I really want one of these class 10 Multicannons the stations have to instant gib any ship.

By original design the green/red sides where not intended to direct traffic direction.
On the other hand many CMDR and now NPCs tend to go the green side, so it may be safer.
For large vessels there is no correct side, just the correct middle.
In recent patches (since 1.3?), even NPC T9s follow the green/red convention. Last night I exited the slot in my Anaconda with an entering NPC T9 and had no problems. IMO, following the green/red lights is a good idea even in large ships.

you shouldnt be able to put a ticket in for that , people should be more careful. its that simple and could happen to anyone. just because you lose a couple of million (haha) ,its happened to us all so stop the crying and get back out there.

fly safe cmdr david187
Hits the nail on the head. They should lump all these into one megathread, the "I never read the change notes about speeding and collisions" thread.

Ok I might buy back my clipper if I can find it discounted but I can't I have tried everywhere currently at kamito newcomb hub in a disposable ship but no discount?

Wait... Buy it back? I thought you bought it back for 2M?

I did then stripped it down an sold it till I can afford it again I can now but only if discounted. Now explain because I'm getting angry every one saying they can get it discounted at newcomb but it doesn't apply to me I guess.

If you are really upset about the speed limit, especially when docking, install a Docking Computer. It will boost at maximum speed, and always get you landed safely. For whatever reason SJA comes up with, once under the DC control the speed limit is ignored. Of course you also have the added bonus that if anything does happen to your ship whilst under the DC control, it is definitely a bug and you will probably get reimburst.

Speeding doesn't kill people, stations kill people

Argh - I just had this exact same thing happen to me. 7Mil credits insurance loss.

Coming in for a port landing in an Anaconda... some small sidey comes out of nowhere and bounces off the shields and explodes (it was a NPC)... like a bug hit or something... *fine* given, station goes hostile and rips through my shields and hull in about 3 seconds. That must qualify for the fastest traffic violation investigation and penalty given.

 Wow. ED is dangerous... to fly dangerous.

Now, I'm going to be flying like a little ole grannie (wait a sec, some of those are dangerous too).

I do like flying in and out of the mailslot at high speed... that's what shields were made for.

It is quite interesting that, as the Devs respond to one issue, they create another... hmm.... just like real life. I'm not blaming anyone (I have no one to blame except myself... written 100 times) but it is frustrating to have happen.

For the first time, I'll be looking at docking computers...

I have not had 1 single incident with the station blowing me up since the release of 1.3 due to running into an NPC. Make sure you enter and exit green side and watch the radar as well as the visual outside the canopy. You can still fly in and out +100 if you are careful and mindful. Regardless of how or why it happens, IMO, if a station blows you up for ram killing an NPC, it's your own fault.

So *that's* what the "speeding" warning means. Harrah for forums to teach me this, because the game doesn't.
I thought real life wouldve taught you what speeding means... Speeding means that any accidents with you involved would have at least partial responsibility fall on you even if you were the one who got hit.

I had just come out of super cruise in my Type-9 yesterday when suddenly an NPC sidewinder popped out of super cruise right in front of me. I moved to avoid collision but slammed into it. I guess it "got mad" and started shooting me. The station and local security destroyed the sidewinder.

Once upon time in a station i buy imperial slaves to trade when a landing off the platform my cat press the empty cargo botom and i whatch with panic all that slave humans bean expulse out of my ship inside the station that put me some several fines. i lost 6m in two minutes.

ok, LOL

this button is truly deadly. Fdevs had a laugh when they were putting it there probably.
Just remap it in options to nothing.

OP, it happens sometimes.

Earlier in the week, I lost a Python while on a smuggling run. I boosted out of the mailslot like I normally do, except this time an npc hauler was right in front of me and I couldn't turn fast enough. I ram the npc and I get a reckless flying fine. A few seconds later, the ship blows up and I get a murder bounty on me. Still close to the station, I try to boost out of the no fire zone range and die in the process.

I lost a FDL two weeks ago to the same thing.

I also fly Python but it's shields are strong unless you run with substandard or no shields. I found that it doesn't take long to get away from the station. What shield configuration do you use on your Python?

The entitlement system raising generation of people at work here it seems - who feel they deserve compensation or are the victims when they break the rules/law.

I speed all the time in stations - but if and when I die due to it, that will be my responsibility and accept it with grace.

Same here. When I had my python I boosted in and out all the time. A fine was just part of business expenses if I wasn't fast enough to dodge.
