Gutted for this. I have been waiting for the AI update. Hopefully it will go in because currently the combat AI still needs a lot of improvements.
On her being "gagged", if true it's sad because she actually communicate in a non-criptic way, unlike the rest of the staff who seem to need 2-3 request for clarification before giving info that people can understand.

Without resorting to tin-foil hat speculation it's pretty easy to see Sarah isn't terribly happy about this and its even easier to see why a lot of players would be greatly concerned about this news. Considering that so many of us spend so much time in-game interacting with NPCs, it is understandable that a lot of us consider AI improvements (and not just combat AI, but behaviour overall) to be the most critical aspect of the game and that it should be prioritized above all else. The sooner we see more convincing AI the better. This doesn't inspire confidence in that happening :-(
Well PVP is uber rare sadly and I dont attack non wanted or non enemie players...

You have done so much good for Frontier PR, that it makes the rest of the bunch look hapless.
Perhaps that is the problem.
I play mostly pve, and I have loved the improved AI.
So hopefully whatever is happening, this thread should be heartening.
I might have to go and buy one of your books now

Oh my god... just every review on that page. It all sounds so bloody familiar. I mean, just, wow. I encourage everyone who still has faith in the management's ability to complete this project satisfactorily take a long hard look at that page.

I think most of the negative come from the days of the old FPS they stoped working on... I hope the same wont happen for elite

She posted on the 20th that she was changing role and would be communicating less.

I'm not following the Chicken Little "The Sky Is Falling!" brigade. As far as I'm concerned, SJA has been reassigned within FDev which means she's either bringing her coding skills to another part of ED, or she's working on something different in-house.
Either way, she'll still do a sterling job on whatever it is. People seem to be quick to jump on the negative, but unable to see a positive. SJA will still be contributing, we just won't be as aware of her contribution actually is.

A lot of those comments are from people who have worked on elite, if I'm interpreting some things right.
Yeah and some workers would not be happy if we payed them in golden plated trucks filled with gold.

FD have always been the same, it was the same when they released RTC 3. I know they where under the thumb screws of Atari but never the less. :S

Most unabashedly negative comments can be taken with a pinch of salt, but the general consensus of the people who worked there seems to be that the upper management has absolutely no idea what they're doing, and are dishonest or silent in their general dealings as much as they can get away with. Something reaffirmed countless times with their interactions with the community so far. Call that normal corporate life if you wish, but keep that in mind next time they say "trust us, we got this"
