I don't have one. Not a lot of us do. It's not possible for the few guys that have one to test everything.
I will be heading to Tionisla tonight, to see if I can spot something out of the ordinary.

I think searching around SSS, USS and WSS while going far out might be the best.

"The bodies are being shipped to Eta Cassiopea for further study."
We have an Eta Cassiopeiae in Elite: Dangerous. It has 3 stations and two stars. Nothing seems out of ordinary, but the fed navy base moved there in 2983. It also "has an ancient name of Achird". Might be one of the better bets for those who have a UA.

So far we have really much to test and low amount of UAs... I might just go find myself one now. My Python is ill-equipped for the task, but its for science, right?

1) FSD failure, Power plant failure or thurster malfunction before jump.
2) Sirius, ETA Cass and Tionisla system scouting.
3) Capital ship FSD drop and cargo hold test.
4) Cargo sound test.

Need to add a few more, drop 'em like they hot!

Edit: Heading to UN NO MYOIN.

Don't forget:
Cargo hatch disabled
Travel NORTH as long as the UA allows
Only ONE module malfunction caused the Antares to misjump.

Another thing:
We have Two in scope constellations, Cetus (the whale) and Dolphin:
Any unknown permitted sector towards them?

Yes, exactly. They mean "wrap It up clocks ticking"

Just so everyone knows Kerrash repped this post, in case anyone has doubts :D

So the UA and the answer to it is some kind of hint or precursor to whatever is coming in the announcement.....

My guess? Either Thargoid invasion or Halsey's coming back with the Thargoids in tow.

Hi Riz.
I don't think it's one module malfunction.
The module that failed was the hyper drive, MK 3b.
There is one specific component in the drive that fails.

Or both.

FSDs are much safer now than they were during the Antares incident.

Investigations into the SS1 incident seemed to show an unlikely 4 module cascade failure, not just 1.

I have the news item at home but am currently in work, it's in Galnet somewhere.

How much time does it take for the UA to eat through the cargo hatch of a convoy? been waiting for like 10 mins already...

Edit: popping a brainstormed idea: they get promoted if the mission succeeds. Get where I am going?

Good luck with that. It takes ages, with a 1/3 chance that it will do so in SC.
Assuming you cant take on a Conda, follow the T9 and pray

Cargo hatch is still 100%, but only 1 conda left... I fear the fed ship will jump away... gonna risk it...
Edit: not equipped well vs Conda... still gonna try to do something more...

SOP When doing it solo is to follow the T9 using a Wake Scanner until it drops enough Condas for you to take it out, then smash and grab.
Assumes UA is not dropped in SC
Assumes the T9 doesnt go to an unpopulated system and vanish to normal space before you see it
Assumes you dont get interdicted while following it

It got really close to an outpost. Still following. Conda got 61% hp and 51% on power plant. I have 45% hull, doing quire a lot better on power plant tho'. I'm recording all this QQ

Edit: Server reboot :C

We know that the UA transmits morse.
We also have people here that are fluent/can hear morse.
The UA appears to transmit the nearest object in system, be it outpost planet star etc.

There are a number of objects, systems or other things in elite that we have either been unable to find, have gone lost, or are missing in some way.
Several times its been mentioned that the UA transmits the nearest human designation in morse.
How do we know that is true??

Our bearers have been doing some pretty exhaustive testing. Each day we have several video/sound clips posted here documenting that.
Have our members that translate morse been verifying that the expected audio from the UA is infact what we are getting??

What if the UA actually says 'space whales here' or 'raxxla' and not what we expect in certain cases.
I bring this up, because i have been following this thread for ~350 pages, and if verification is being completed of each clip (be it video or sound) it is not obvious.
Certainly there are translations that have taken place, but is someone translating, or atleast verifying the morse of each clip to sound correct?

We have been told to listen to them, and have determined that they transmit morse. Now that we have that, are we really listening to what they have to say?

Im going to repost this since my questions werent answered, and it appears we r on the clock.

R we sure we know what its saying in all the recordings that have been made?

I raised it too. I dont think there are any fluent morsers checking all the recordings, but there are a few people who believe they would be able to spot when it was not as expected.

I missed it... Conda didnt want to jump away, and server reboot limited my time. Chose to pull out and save 190k bounty I earned while searching and the 5 million rebuy cost. I'll refit my Python's weapons after the reboot tho'

If you want to communicate via notes with the UA, I think there is a better solution than typing in the chat.

A while ago I noticed that the discovery scanner gives of a note in the beginning of the charging sequence. At first I thought this was a random note. Then I did some testing and noticed that the different notes seem to be in a recurring underlying pattern. If you fire (not a full charge up just a press of the fire button) the scanner multiple times in a row with the correct identical interval (around 1 second) you will always hear the same note.

This means the notes of the discovery scanner are not random, they are in an ordered loop with a specific cycle time. So if you find the sequence of notes and the cycle time you could pick and choose your message =)

I have not tested this thoroughly since I didn't think it was important at the time. But now I read that the UA also gives of a HONK noice and notes similar to the discovery scanner. So if you want to communicate with it, use the same language! =)

Any thoughts on this?
Sorry if I'm a little eager =)

Bad luck, but fairly normal. 5m rebuy is your problem, mine is 10m, and while I would happily take on 1 Conda, I wouldnt take on 2.
http://coriolis.io/outfit/python/07...Iw18eQ==.AwgsIyvEEZgMzCA=?bn=Detective Python

I'm running a much cheaper ship, because that's all the money I got... 100 million + 10 million in my pocket... Money for 2 insurance. I wanted to farm some more creds, but clock's ticking off. I'm also running 3 shield boosters and no cargo scanner...

Do you think the location the wing ends up in and the loss of the Conda indicate a miss jump like SS1?

Do they always end up in deep space after loosing a Conda?

Do they always loos a Conda?

If not, do they still end up in deep space?

Is the slaved UA carrying T9 the key?
