Also if you have a discovery scanner try blasting that after each test.
The discovery scanner sound blast is really close the the ship horn blast from the voyager morse code.

Has anyone tried looking for a system named "VID8" or "HIB8" while having the UA in the cargohold? I still think it's a two-layered message. I'm a stubborn guy!

VID8 brings up nothing. HIB8 Brings up various systems, which I have personally explored and found nothing.
it would be interesting to see if someone with a UA did those missions if it would change the mission. could be a clear reference to the UA (door / key / place reference).
But then again I think the mission requires ELITE status...
Well a computer core could be a beacon in a way since it can translate data and output it. Also have you even checked the wiki?
Damn it! And sorry to post things that have already been discussed, just trying to bring new ideas but it looks like you guys have tried almost everything, hence the more "original" theories...
(PS: Have you tried these? (with UA in cargohold!) All right, all right, I'm leaving. xD)

The pace of the thread almost matches our deep seated wish to solve this. A great many creative ideas and tests, I applaud you all.
Keep seeing '3' mentioned though. So many references via so many angles, both lore and observation based.
Please tell me there have been three UAs dropped in the same instance, for my sanity's sake.
Just as an aside, the sound designers/coders deserve a massive pat on the back. We've been poring over the One True Hint ("Listen") from the start, and I never fail to be enchanted by the fully location based soundscape. It's a thing of beauty I shall continue to admire however this mystery plays out.

3... like that famous TNG episode where they were stuck in a time loop that ended with the Enterprise colliding with the Bozeman and both ships getting destroyed.
Remember when Data started subconsciously manipulating everything so the number 3 would always show up? All because he thought Riker had the better idea on how to save the ship and his rank was 3 pips..

What about getting it to Gateway? Gate's can be unlocked, right?
Better yet what about looking for Klortho and Gozer? Maybe in the map?
The sound of the UA is made up of the sounds from several different species of Whale.
That could be just to give it that spooky under water sound.
The Elite Leviathan is a fish. That makes the connection a bit of a stretch.
The UA it selfe looks organic even animalistic, but it does looks more reptile than mammal or fish.
The major strange thing is the missing Liaququ system.
It is listed with it's own description in the FE2 Gazetteer.
It is mentioned in the FE2 short story, Full Circle.
It is mentioned 6 times in the FFE news articles.
It is involved in one of the hand coded misions in FFE.
It's probably David Masseys favourite system and yet it's gone.
Things like that does nor happen by accident.
