So far as I know the artefacts have been in since Wings 1.2 update on March 10. Halsey's ship disappeared in May.

We have been assuming that because of the trailer, we don't know that for a fact. Is everything else in that trailer a fact, and in-game (like the launch trailer)? The first one was not found in-game by a player (that we know of) until the 4th of May.

Plus that still does not explain Antares. Misinformation in an attempt to draw attention away from the assassination?

Heh, I was referring to the new Sirius outposts, not the UAs FWIW in my quote in your post three posts back.

Using the latest info in the Galnet post, and Sirius as the source of the convoys, do any of the found / seen convoys point to a destination, or they are randomly jumping to try and trigger the Antares effect?
Or a place to start scanning every T9 to see what it is carrying if it is the source of the convoys?
Or a place to do UA testing?
Or just a confirmation of unexpected consequences from random system glitches?
Too many Or's

“The telemetry from the shuttle provided clear evidence of a stall in the computer’s operation as the vessel approached the docking port. The boost protocol should have been disabled but was instead activated, causing the shuttle to crash into the station.”

Everyone onboard the shuttle was killed including Sean Richards, a senior consultant engineer who helped to compile the incident report on the recent disappearance of Starship One. Richards had also formed part of the task force some 50 years earlier with the Antares enquiry.

There's the clear link between the Antares Incident 50 years ago, and SS1 disappearing earlier this year.

this sounds like an assassination attempt. Sean Richards clearly knew something that linked the Antares and SS1 and had to be taken care of. The software was likely made to fail in order to make it look like an accident.

conspiracy 101

Which means there might be no UA connection at all. Or the UA is simply part of the cover up so they can point at aliens as the causes/deflect suspicion/unify humanity etc etc. But who is doing the killing and the alien-pointing? And what is the "real" alien aspect of the UA, i.e. where is it from/what does it represent?

Since the death of Sean Richards smacks of Elite Dangerous' take on the 70s thriller movie trick of doctored brakes... a test comes to mind.
I haven't seen any mention of it on the Wiki but perhaps it has already been done. In which case, I'll be very happy to update the Wiki should anybody be kind enough to pass info back to me.

We should dump a ton of Eliot Gould out with the UA and see what happens.

That's it! NASA (or someone else...) faked the UAs! And now they are trying to cover it up! (out of rep)

I predict all the UAs in the Galaxy will appear at the Emperor's wedding, open up and eat everyone.

So while the clock keeps on ticking, everyone keeps talking.
No-one is actually DOING anything.

All it takes is ONE UA taken to Paterson Enterprise at Sirius and sold on the black market.

If I had a UA myself, I'd have sold it there already this evening.

scientist 1: How are we gunna fool the civilians?

scientist 2: Uhm... lets... wrap some paper mache around one of these canisters of toxic waste, put a cd player in there that just plays the same slowed down tuba sounds, and throw in a NAV beacon for morse. The best part is? It wont make a lick of sense!

scientist 1: Genius! My kid has a tuba, I'll fire up fruityloops and make a track. We've got to find some T9s too, make it look legit

scientist 2: Yeah, they're never gunna figure this out.

Scientist 1: word. lets put some sea creatures in there to really throw them off too. what do we have lying around?

Scientist 2: [redacted]

Moi aussi. But I don't. And I'm still at work over here. ;-)

Here is an alternative tinfoil hat: Sirius and Winters have actually been the good guys, trying to figure out what went wrong on SS1 and any Antares connection. Somehow this led them to the UA. People behind the UA and assassinations kill the Sirius folks trying to uncover the truth. Back to Hudson as the bad guy?

Still doesn't explain why there are so many of them going hither and thither in convoys, and who is doing this, unless _a whole lotta INRA hits_ are going to go down tomorrow, all over the place, not just at the wedding. The Red, err, UA, Wedding anyone? aka the Black, err, UA, Dinner?

Ya Braben pretty much said that its been in since 1.2 when during the QnA he was asked about non-celestial objects he said : "What I had in mind has been there since Wings... "

Sirus corporation has no limits to what they are willing to do but we need to remember that they have only one goal. Credits.

If there are no credits to be made, they will not lift a finger.

They have a history of coorporating with INRA. SiCor. produced the Mycoid and the vaccine (why the vaccine?).

Why was there no mention of military fuel in the GalNet article about Sirius corporation?

Don't belive anything until officially denied ;-)

it's... really hard to say. From what we know, mixed with a bit of imagination, the UA may be an artefact of a past era (imagine that, an artefact being an artefact) from the thargoid war some 300 years ago.

The thargoids could be entirely responsible for Antares & SS1 but that doesnt nessicarily imply Antares or SS1 had a UA on board.

The UA and the misjumps could be two separate things that both point to Thargoids.

If the UA caused the systems malfunction in the shuttle, would that not mean that a UA was being transported to Patterson station?

IF.......in true Sparta form

But maybe, can't discourage another test.
Question....why do people seem so certain FD will solve the UA mystery tomorrow? Surely they have enough announcements for day one anyway?

kerrash sent a hint that if we wont solve it, it will be revealed (sorry no time for the link). The assumption then has been that it will be tomorrow since there was an announcemnet of an announcment for tomorrow ;-D

not only that, Kerrash also rep'd two posts (one of them being mine, the other being Archanonn's) where we both had said something along the lines of "The end is nigh, gamescom may be the reveal"
