It does mention "unlock" - maybe, like the Imperial Clipper, the ship is not available to just anyone who enters the shipyard but requires a permit / rank to be able to be purchased. As long as the permit is able to be earned in-game in some way then that would seem to be fair enough to me.

That said, anyone playing the game now (or getting into it this year) should be able to unlock the ship, if they are or become eligible for the Horizons expansion.

They're asking that full price for essentially an "early access" expansion where you pay without actually knowing how much content it will feature in the future, so not even full price for an early access title. Full price for an early access EXPANSION

FD burned me and a lot of other people with the same damn model for the base game. It's still the same shallow husk of a space sim almost completely devoid of content.

Surely it should be free to people with a lifetime pass already !

As far as I'm aware, if you have the "Lifetime Pass" then there is no need to go to the store and purchase the expansion

This is why I don't like that "first year" line ... to me "first year" was Nov 2012 to Nov 2013 ... or did my money not count in Jan 2013? They certainly got it.

If you look at my posting history you'll see that I don't post much. It doesn't take much effort to check out ED news monthly or something.

I came here today because I wanted to see what they were announcing in the hopes that it might finally fill some of the promises and designs made for the base game that I bought (regretfully) in the beta stages.
