Not strictly true, a starter ship and the full game (when launched) costs only £35.
True there are more expensive options for those with less sense than wealth.
Exactly. I pre-ordered the full SC with 20 euros.

Yeah, nah. There is no guarantee they'll do that. It's a big risk investment.
8 years of that plan is sipping cocktails on the beach in the Caribbean
But there's already such a content overload in the main game, how will they ever be able to live up to these expectations?(...) DBOBE has said many times that he wants at least as much content in each expansion as in the core game (...)
Yes - anyone with a lifetime expansion pass gets this.

It was a condition of the request for planetary landings all the way back in November 2012 (feel free to try going back through the Kickstarter comments), that planetary landings be SEAMLESS, as we had them in FE2/FFE. For a long time, the expansion was called Seamless Planetary Landings, or SPL for short.Well, until I see gameplay footage and read more detail information, I'm keeping my expectations low...
If we look at the game mechanics in the existing core game we have lots of simplistic mini-games. What's to suggest Horizons will not be more of the same? We have Powerplay which IMHO is not only a mis-concieved design, it's a worryingly simplistic design with no attempt to deepen peoples gaming exerience, but simply re-offer the same limited mini-games. What's to suggest Horizons will not be more of the same?
So until I see or find out more of new mechanics offered in Horizons, I'll assume they are more mini-games bolted onto the side of more mini-games. Until I see otherwise, I will not expect a single sniff of anything deep enough to offer any emergent/deep gameplay mechanics.
I know this sounds a little cynical, but since the games release I've seen little if no sand added to the sandbox to improve core gameplay, which remains frustratingly simple IMHO. If the core game is like this, apples don't often fall far from the tree...
Fingers crossed I'm wrong, and we get wonderful new deep/broad gameplay and visuals... But I'm limiting my expectations based on current/previous experience at the moment.
I'm loving the return of positivity to the forum!
for about 30 minutes ^^
Funny how the trailer show nada about the actual space -> planet landing and what you can do when landed. Need a better trailer!

OK, that does make sense ... but that then means November 2012 to December 2014 didn't happen.
Also by Caribbean I think you meant Cambridge, and there's no beaches in Cambridge![]()
So new customers pay £40, we pay another £29.99 after having already paid paid £39.99 for the original game? No thanks, think I'm out. Fallout 4 is coming anyway , love Elite and have really enjoyed the game but I am not paying a full game price for an expansion. Just not doing it
So I just installed the Horizons Beta Launcher, and it doesn't look any different from the normal. I thought there may be a Beta launch button. Am I being thick or are we having to wait for a server side update?
