Starting from private beta test and up to the alpha everyone gets expansions for free.

That includes you. And you will be able to take part in a beta test even.

Thank you but I didn't see that written any where is why i ask, and i dont see horizons in my downloadable items... and others are talking about downloading now... i presume those who have newlly purchased it

If you're premium beta .. which for £200 KS I think you will be (check in the store), you're golden

didnt see a download along with my other downloadable items is why i asked..

No, it's not released yet and won't be for foreseeable future. It's coming out at the end of the year, and beta period will start in autumn most likely.

It should cost 20$ max for those, who already have game... Lifetime expansion pass for 200$. No, thanks. That's half of my month salary in Russia. I'am dissapointed. Why they didn't say from begining, that each dlc will cost same price as base game.

They actually did since Kickstarter.

oh right, i see, thank you
i guess people saying they are downloading the horizons beta, may be mistaken and actually downloading the normal installer...?

(I'm not golden and won't be in this beta test, owning KS standard beta + expansions pass)

Except I think you will get Beta access to Horizons due to the lifetime expansion pass, via support faq.
Although I note it doesn't expressly mention Beta access to further expansions, only access to the expansions themselves.

They never said, that each dlc will cost like base game. I was ready for some 10-20$ per year. But this...

If you buy the Lifetime pass right now - all future DLC is free.

So work that out over the lifetime of the game - say, 10 years - and work out the cost from there.

Don't think that's Horizons .. not released yet (coming Christmas 2015) ..

Yeah, no problem, you'll be fine. We had a thread about this in the backers forum a while back, but what with kickstarter (multiple levels), pre-orders, main game, preorder of expansions .. there seem to be quite a few permutations! The structure, though a bit confusing because of permutations, gets the winterwalker seal of approval (even though I'm not on a golden ticket like you )

I am so very happy. This is hopefully going to be awesome. Hopefully it'll give more life to exploration.

Keep up the good work FD!

Actually I think Michael Brookes explained earlier inthe thread, Lifetime Expansion entitles you to the Horizons RELEASE, not the BETA.

He did :

Yes - the digital pack included the expansion pass at £80 or higher so would include Horizons, however it would not provide you with beta access.

Hey All,

The store doesn't seem to be applying my discount...

Anyone else?

Cheers

Disregard. It applies the discount at the last moment... :)

Okay I fully understand that these are paid expansions and as this was always positioned as such I have no problem with it. That said the announcement (see below) indicated that existing players would get a 25% discount. I went to the check out and only seem to get a 20% (10 pounds) discount off the 49.99 pound expansion.

If you go and try to buy the lifetime pass at 130 pounds (or 200 USD) you still only get 10 pounds or 13% off.

That leaves me with two questions. First is the discount right or is it linked to when you joined (I got in during beta) and second how many expansions beyond plantside were planned? I only seem to recall planetside and first person which would lead me to think I'd be better off buying them seperately

The expansion is 39.99 pounds. Applying a 10 pound discount is 25% off, making the expansion 29.99.

I believe that this is what was meant with a 25% discount. It is really just 10 quid off, no matter what you buy. Could have been stated clearer IMHO.

I too can't think of any expansions past Horizons and FPS. I'll buy separately...

thats what i was wondering, seeing as i didnt see the horizons beta in my download items

although it does say:

I'm an Alpha backer! What do I get?
Alpha backers are invited to participate in the Elite Dangerous: Horizons beta and will automatically get access to the full series of expansions the moment they are released! This includes those who bought Alpha access via the store before we launched the game

I think for those that buy the expansion pass at £130 but do not have beta access, instead of having to buy the EDH again to get the beta access, there should be a separate beta access pass for £10 (same as the difference between EDH expansions) available to those buyers

Congrats guys! Great idea to make a season of updates and as a diehard Frontier Elite 2 fan that trailer made me smile and shout "yeahhhhh!!!" like I was at a sports event.
