Reading up elsewhere it would seem that you won't get the Cobra IV for free, rather you will have it unlocked. Still not 100% sure, but I'd honestly prefer it not being handed around for free; it's kind of immersion breaking to have ingame companies give away a ship for free as a reward for preordering a real world product. Unlocking is better. Plus it's a Cobra, possibly a better specced and more expensive than the III, but I doubt it'll break the bank. ATM I'm kind of assuming a between Courier and Asp price point.

David Braben 100% confirmed on Twitch stream from Gamescom that the Cobra MkIV will be available in game to purchase for credits, so you WON'T get it from the start. In other words - you get the ability to purchase the ship in a shipyard.

Thank you. As it should be, then.

Yeah I know Commander. Save up though, £10 a week, put it by for a month. or £5/wk over two?
"Soon be Christmas" too so, if your Aunt needs help with her shopping, now's might be a good time!
Good luck.

Thanks man. Right now, there's nothing to save up. Once funds come in, I will propably buy it eventually. I still find the deal a rotten one.

Actually, the product page says Horizons contains the base game. BUT if you already own the game, you do not get another license (to give to a friend, for example)? Isn't that false advertising?

If you already have the game it's just an expansion, you don't have a new account, it's linked to your previous data. However, if you want to, you should buy horizon not as expansions and pay 10 more credits (IRL / dépends where you live) to start as a new commander with the core game + horizon

... i guess it's something like this

How does that make sense though?

sorry if it's not that clear.
If you have ED core game, you will pay the expansion -10cr and it will merge to your current game
if you don't have ED core game, you will pay the full price expansion and get ED core game (for 10 euros/dollars/pounds/bananas)

They still charge 37EUR for the core game. Saying in Horizons it "costs" 10EUR is silly and untrue, especially since the core game is much bigger then this expansion.

First of all it's the whole season of expansions.

I also wouldn't say the core game is bigger... We don't know that. Planetary landings add A LOT of new content, and we don't know what's in store throughout the year. I agree the pricing may seem a bit unfair to some people (not to me btw), but when you already have ED you get a discount for Horizons and you pay for the whole Season (a year more or less, basically) of new content that is being added on top of your new game. If you don't have ED you pay for the new content and the base game, which you are unable to access - and that's where the difference is. If a person wants to play ED and also get Horizons, they have to buy the base game AND Horizons, just like you did.

AFAIK, there isn't any yet, only the trailer. The release date is still a few months out.

and ... are they selling it without even a screenshot?

No, Horizons contains the existing game. Brand new players pay 50EUR for the whole shebang, whereas I would have to pay 77EUR for it (40EUR mercenary edition + Horizons).
