I'll post as I go through galnet messages mentioning "Unknown Artefact".

And that's it for global galnet news mentioning words "Unknown" and "Artefact" together

Of cause they may not have user Unknown and Artefact directly.

They have instead describe what the UA look like,

a phage like object.

An Brookes also just told us one part of the puzzle have been completed. An what just been completed the Cerberus plague CG. An with the Emperor assassination story on going nothing in those stories hints of a UA, and we directly being told Halsey story is frozen until 1.4 is release, the only other major story on Galnet that can be connected to the UA is the Cerberus plague. I think the goals of the blog wasn't just to tell us about all the new tools they are building for themselves but to directly tell us which story is relevant to the UA

Looks like I missed the MB tour of this thread :(

I just really, really, really hope these new mechanics are a bit more interactive and user-paced than the current "access point" to this stuff (finding a UA), churning SS after SS and hoping the RNG lucks out on you, with no indication that you're even looking in the right spot. I've ditched scouring HR 1185 after spending half a week of my available gametime staring at a nav panel in favour of going back to Powerplay.

Sounds like they have interesting plans. Personally I didn't see much point in a moving station unless I could actually watch it jump or arrive.
Imagine parking there for the night, having no idea that the station can move, logging back in and being in a completely different system than when you signed out.

He didn't really say that there has been anything in Galnet about the part that has been completed though. Personally I suspect it's the discovery of HR 1185 and free-floating UAs that is the part we've completed.

Sure, if you happen to be parked in that station on the one night per week (or couple of weeks) that FD release a client update and the station moves, it might be a bit of a surprise. Now imagine if you were lining up your approach to the slot and suddenly the blast doors come down and the whole station jumps out, in a display presumably at least as spectacular as a capital ship arriving.

Incidentally, if you haven't seen the blast doors of a station close, look it up on youtube. It's something not a lot of people are aware can happen.

I know it's not perfect, but I guess this list would at least help filtering out commander made news on the subject for people who don't keep all this info in their heads.
Important thing to remember is that we don't have access to local galnet news (which are generated for specific systems) from outside of the game - we could have missed something there.

Are we all aware of the Orion Correlation Theory? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_correlation_theory

I'm sure you are, Han_Zen - indeed it might have already been mentioned.

Worth reading the 'criticisms' section on that page, though. There's a couple of showstoppers for me - not least the fact that the proposers of the original theory had to flip the three pyramids vertically to make it fit, and that when the pyramids were built the stars would likely have had different relative positions. But of course, there are rebuttals to those rebuttals, so who really knows...

Just a thought, though. It's not like FD could arbitrate on a theory in a work of fiction is it.

Edit:

And when you start reading up on this kind of thing, with the whole Progenitor race theories (I.e. that the ancient Egyptians believed humanity to have been borne of the stars etc), it does frame those comments on Galnet about Soontill Relics, that was FD originated, a little differently. Mention of looking to our past to understand how those relics related to known Thargoid tech (and trying to find human fakery in case they weren't real relics), or something like that.

There are a lot those theorys out on the web. I don't think any of them fit the Elite universe directly. I however think that FD has used some bits from these myths to create their own story. Alot of this could be public knowledge in the Elite galaxy. We have just not been told yet.

The cosmic beginnings of the pyramids may be well know. Just not to us. Those funky Egyptian gods may well have been Thargoids for all we know

Or the work that has been done to this point triggered the free floating UAs. Perhaps they needed to be taken from the convoys (using wings), people question where the convoys got them, at which point they triggered the free floating UAs in SSS a little further out of the bubble.

Sounds to me like the question of how the UAs are getting there will be answered when we have more to discover in future updates.

was hoping it would make a nice base for explorers by now, shame he stopped when he reached the edge of the bubble.
happy to hear he hasn't been forgotten :)

With the stuff in lore, I think you might well be right ;)

In part you've already triggered the next phase and that's some of what is coming. There's other aspects that haven't been found yet, so these will come in foreground a bit more.

Michael

It was selling one at Nimoy wasn't it......:D I have no idea but I am hoping that's the case as I had my heart set on that one!

Either way over the moon to hear from you again and to give us encouragement Mr Brookes.......the FD gods do indeed smile upon The Canonn and all it's brethren, or something like that anyway ;)

Can't wait to see where we are off to next.

In the end MB's posts raise more questions than answers. If he told us "ok guys, there is nothing more to crack in the audio", that would help us tremendously, 'cause at least we would focus on other methods, but no, we're still stuck with no hint to help us.

-- update --

Yeah we triggered something, but we don't know what got triggered and what triggered the thing we don't know got triggered. Damn.

Sucks to be us right!? :D

But remember we have more UAs in circulation than ever before; a place to find them that doesn't require a decent level combat ship; and more people on this thread than ever before (by my own unscientific calculation methods - namely a finger in the air ;)). And this thread isn't the end of UA science, either.

Equally - let's say he said
There is nothing else in the audio ;)

The audio-heads among us probably wouldn't believe him anyway :D

I don't believe we've "unlocked" anything, he just said that so we don't feel bad when the UA story continues ;)

If you're right, I expect all the endorphins from running around with pitchforks will have us all feeling quite good and flushy-sheeny. Remember to hydrate, people. Those pitchforks get heavy after a couple of hours of stabbery. Note: if you lunge right, it's all in the forearm.

Haha you're right, I should be more optimistic. It's just that wandering around the Pleiades looking for the right SSS for five days now is driving me a bit crazy. :D Plus I forgot to bring my tinfoil hat with me, I feel naked...

One more thing: sell one UA in Alioth guys! (What? I'm a pain in a neck, aren't I?)
