was fortunate enough to have "hidden" sufficient funds away from the family coffers to purchase the original lifetime pass myself..... also sitting back smugly :D

This is different offer, much more expensive.

quoted for context...when I first read this, I took it to mean I'd never get a shot at the LEP (this was 5 days before I discovered Elite Dangerous), hence my pleasant surprise when it was offered again.

What expectations? Pass never appearing on sale again? Sorry, but all I hear from those early pass buyers are very happy to get pass for 35 pounds.

You could get pass for freaking 35 pounds. Sorry I have hard time to believe anyone feeling shafted considering how much pass costs NOW.

Let's just stop boosting these hyperbolic claims. I know that's how Internet works, but hey, at least Friday we can get some relief, no?

Eh? I think you are misinterpreting me or I'm not making my point clear or maybe I misunderstood the thread.

Merely, I was originally sad that I missed the LEP, when I went to read the Newsletter, I felt I'd never get to see it again based on how it was worded. It definitely seemed to my stupid face that I'd never see it.

I'm happy to get it now, regardless of price.

EDIT: (damnit more coffee now) It is Friday...not trying to stir up crap with you. I think it was a good idea to bring the LEP back. Like I said, not sure why anyone would get worked up over it. (i.e. we agree :D )

I know that feeling, I always take a lot of salt to anything my wife says. The other day she told me that she just shopped a "little" thing! Well I asked what the price was, and she said "only $200" sure it was a little thingy, it hardly covered anything, however I didn't complain further.

I think that would be a silly argument. If they make it 0.01 pounds (or dollars) more expensive, would that suddenly allow them to put it back on sale again? Anyway, they never said "forever at that price", they just said "forever".

Well, I think FD sales team learnt from that (and other) mess-ups, and hopefully won't repeat them anymore.

Crikey I never knew the LEP was on sale for just £35 last year. I thought 120 was a bargain but 35 was an absolute steal. I thought you had to back the KS at around £90 and above to get that. You lucky bar stewards.

Yeah, I don't think they originally intended to put it out again. Which is why it was worded that way.

However, there were several threads and posters that showed genuine interest in buying the LEP if it ever came back. FD, not being one to turn down a nice lump sum, brought it back for us.

So, to turn a blind eye to however FD felt about it before. Let's just pretend it meant never again at that price, because it doesn't really matter what they said back then, does it?

They offered the LEP again before I shelled out for an individual expansion. All square, in my book.

The lifetime pass is strange concept for me....asking for a huge leap of faith based on a road map nobody but FD can see (and even then I bet they don't really know).

The details for Horizons is sketchy enough - I have no idea if that expansion is worth it, what it offers other than the obvious rocky planet landings and dune buggy style vehicles.

£130 on a hunch is a lot......no pressure though :)
