Reports have indicated that it hasn't fixed the issue - it's a driver problem that we tried a speculative work around with.

That makes sense, wish they would have noted this on the change notes, would have saved some aggravation. Although I'm not so sure about holding back bug fixes like this, that kinda sucks.
So, in a few days or more 1.4 generally releases, probably with the XB1 retail release, also makes sense.
I want to buy Horizons I'm just not so sure I want to add it to my PC version because it's on a HP ProBook. It runs okay but definately wasn't designed to run ED so I was wanting to move this PC version to my gamer PC which needs a major upgrade.. oh the conundrum![]()
Hey guys,
Please find the change log for the 1.4 CQC Beta build.
<vast quantities of awesomeness snipped>
- Landing gear speed limiter is now tied to the landing gear toggle rather than what the gears are actually doing
<more awesomeness snipped>
One change I've noticed which I can't find in the enormous changelog is that when coming out of FSD after an interstellar jump, the throttle drops to zero.
Alec, you understood correctly. Deceleration now occurs as soon as you engage landing gearHowever, re: the above landing gear change, can I just check to make sure I understand correctly.
Are you saying (please tell me you're not) that you've now changed this so the deceleration kicks in the instant you deploy Landing Gear?
That landing gear change sounds like a mistake and I say that as someone who slams into the tower quite a bit.
I like the sound of this - does the change expand on the concept of weapons variations that were previously removed?
I'm not a huge fan of the speed limiter kicking in at the point where "L" is hit either, as I did have it down pat in 1.3, but it does make a lot more sense from a systems integrity point of view. In some ways, you shouldn't be able to deploy your landing gear unless you're going below a certain speed. Imagine a huge ship just about to enter the slot at 200m/s and suddenly big pads pop out from underneath it. So hitting "L" should first drop your speed to a safe limit, and then start to engage the landing gear if the new concept is to be logical.
The speed dropping to zero coming out of supercruise however is a great move, IMO. No matter what, in the 34th Century the idea that a space ship would always come out of SC facing the star and at 75+% throttle is simply crazy, and if FD are hoping to keep new players happy and not have to learn a "throttle to zero" keybind the first time they jump, then it's a sensible move.
I don't know why people don't like this change, if anything it makes more sense it's just different to before.
But I think you're right, although I'd go further. Just don't allow people to deploy the gear above the speed limit. Make people slow down first.
