Do you ever get the feeling that our human race isn't as superior as we think it is?

Personally I've never seen us as superior. Special, yes, but not superior. Mind you, bees are special, spiders are special, birds are special, algae is special...

Don't forget that evolution has no foresight, no goals, no objectives. It just is, all things alive at the moment are there simply because their ancestors managed to procreate in one way or another. That's all.

Anyhow, I just dropped in to add that I don't see why there has to be a meaning. It's an interesting concept to think about, but it's no more necessary than botox injections.

(...) but if you reject then you should have some idea of what it is you are rejecting.

You seem to ask me to qualify something that I perceive as non-existent. That of course is not possible. I am not rejecting the thing itself, because to me the thing is nothing but a human construct that labels an absence.

I do however know exactly what I reject. I personally reject the belief in the supernatural/magical because of lack of convincing reasonable evidence.
I do not reject the supernatural itself, because to me there is nothing there to reject. It is an absence, an emptiness.
I could not qualify the supernatural, because there is nothing there... not something I personally can perceive.
Perhaps others can, but they are not very convincing to me personally to say the least.

A lot of people talk about this absence with all kinds of qualifiers, whether they are believers, meta-physicians or theologians, but the actual subject of their constructed sentences is nowhere to be perceived. When push comes to shove to me they seem to construct sentences about nothing.

Here, we are discussing the metaphysical aspects of the significance of our attitudes to living and the living condition. That is very different from Theology

Yes of course and to me it is just as problematic.
I have no idea what you are referring to if you use the word 'metaphysical'.
Of course I have a vague understanding of the concept, but to me it seems to be referring to nothing practical.

P.S.
I have constructed my sentences with the intention not to offend.
I get the feeling our minds work very differently as far as this subject is concerned.
We seem to be worlds apart.

Yeah, sure, whatever.

:)
Whatever indeed.

I've simply been suggesting you keep things in context. I'm sure everyone appreciates your strongly held beliefs and hopefully respects this like any other beliefs.

But spamming them everywhere, hijacking discussions to impose them is not just rude, its creepy.

What a weird and unexpected hostile reaction. Although... perhaps I already felt it approaching (see my earlier comments).

I've simply been suggesting you keep things in context.

Just follow the natural progression of the discussion of which you yourself were part and see what really happened.

I do not think you do what I have explained justice with that remark. It is a distortion.
Just to be precise: Lack of belief is not at all the same as holding a belief.

~ ~ ~

I really do not get your sudden burst of hostility.
I cannot help but wonder: What is the real problem?
You seem to suddenly want to distract from the actual content of our little discussion.
Did I say something painful?
That was not my intention.

It is a simple fact of life that some people hold supernatural beliefs and others do not.
I cannot understand those who do and perhaps you cannot understand those who do not.
No reason to get upset.

Anyway... thank you for your time.
