Operation Enigma, breaking the code!

I doubt you will see much of them at CQC. Apparenrly they prefer to shoot unarmed targets that can't dodge. They also prefer to hurt people when they are bored. Friendly PVP with no real losses doesn't hurt people enough.

It's true, most of them are bored all the time,...(and you got to laugh at their apologetic drivel).

Just keep shoving Solo/Group activity at them till they are cross-eyed.

i like to sign up for some anti pirate pvp, but i don't want to display my cmdr's name on the forum.
who do i contact?

Edit: oh solo? no thanks.
imho people who does "PVP" in solo mode are almost as bad as griefers.

I haven't played for a ages so missed what happened at Hutton so I don't know if Anopholes (sp?) and the gang have gone off script these days, but if there's so much hatred against Code (business as usual from my perspective) why not go after them in Open? I've had a variety of tussels against them with mixed successes, failues and a side order of running away when needed. Get involved, get your best bounty hunting ships and wings together and go after them. Surely that's going to lead to more emergent, fun experiences for all rather than sneaking off into Solo/Group like a scared sheep to affect a number on the screen. Minor faction or not, Code will still be there in Open, doing what they do, unhindered by this supposed 500 strong armada trying to undermine them.

Don't add fuel to the solo/group vs open fire that has raged since launch and actually ATTACK the Code if you're really that bothered.

I agree with Hanks. Seems a bit wishy washy doing something in solo/group. If you have a problem with them do it in open and take them on . The pilots will still be there if you take out their faction anyway . They will still do the same things, therefore a clandestined attack on the faction will make little difference to them.

Within the game rules this kind of play is what makes an online game anyway therefore use it. MHO anyway.

Even if you can get to them they are in wings and good luck being put in the same server with them with your wing. Good luck to anyone going to get them.

So add your name here, and we can start a list for the "Leesti Defence force", …

See, I guess this is the part where "better organization" comes in. You really don't want to give a player group a nice KOS list if you want to work against them.

I guess this has been already mentioned a few times in this thread.

Have fun.

Edit: Oh, never mind, didn't read the whole posting - note to myself: always read the whole posting before replying. In solo there is nobody who can enforce a KOS. :)

would pay a full expansion just for this single issue getting fixed/addressed. i would even pre-order it.

because of this, open is not open, it's just a random slice of it.

no wonder it's griefer's paradise. not that i care about them the least, but when it's so problematic to actually meet up in space it's pretty hard to build a sensible collective narrative, beyond occasional (and pretty much irrelevant) stunts that make it to galnet news.

Shame to hear there are still problems getting groups of people on the same server when in wings but it must be working at some points otherwise Code wouldn't have caused problems at Hutton.

I disagree, people had to submit their applications months back in Zac's thread, do you really think they would not go for their own power. The opinion really changed last week at Hutton, their application should be in and filed, and they are that arrogant they wouldn't even care if it had to be filed today, I also believe if you miss the date its too late, not a hope they would miss it.
Fair enough, I didn't know that you had to apply a while ago. While code was always hated, public attention waned. They probably thought they could weather the storm when they got a faction.

So yes I will do everything possible to gather an anti code army and take them out in solo & groups, I want to ensure their minor faction is wiped from the game forever.

"Just go after them directly today?"

All Alliance bounty's will be dropped at Leesti, that's all that can be done for now.

You don't expect me to interact with them do you? sod that! I want to eradicate them, not have coffee & a chat, they had their chance.
You don't have to have a coffee and chat, just let your lasers do they talking. Undermining in solo or group just seems passive aggressive to me. Like breaking someone's toys when they aren't home. It would be better and more straightforward to just punch them in the face. You'd also be helping out by taking focus away from their victims.

But anyway, you're more than welcome to do what you want. Good luck.

Ok, at least with Hutton we had the cojones to fight people in open. Let us know when you have the testicular fortitude to do the same. I mean solo and group operations only? An empty victory against the NPC group of CODE is just that and will mean nothing against the killers that created the new rare commodity "Huttons Tears" in such great supply. If you want to challenge CODE then come at us in the open just as we come at you.
Nursing a semi.

They're not going after specific individuals, though. Any lightly defended ship with a low ranked pilot will do, meaning almost any instance will fit their purposes. They run like rabbits when they see real opposition, exploiting the game mechanic as it stands. Going after them in open isn't really an option at this point in time, whereas bringing overwhelming force to bear on weaker individuals is quite easy to do.

FD may be working on this, or they may run with bigging Code up as bad guys for a while. They need to sell games; the outside impression of a lively, dynamic, player led universe will do that. I think the OP has a point- hurt Code in a way that annoys them. They're already on this thread crying 'not fair' and pouring scorn on the concept, which suggests that he's on target.

OP- sorry mate, those cretins already ruined my only flight in days. Life's too short to buy into their narcissistic 'we're so bad' routine, I'm not wasting any more game time on them, no matter how much it annoys them. Good luck with the crusade, though!

It depends on what a group or individual wants to achieve, what is possible and what that group/individual thinks would hurt the other group most.
Assuming that the "attacked" group cares a lot about their image and it's members are very proud and have big egos. If that group makes a minor faction easy to assum that destroying that minor faction would hurt their egos more than engaging them in an activity they are known to enjoy.

Not a very nice thing to do, but it's using the existing game mechanic (in an intended way) and it could be highly effective to reduce the moral of the attacked group.

Doing that just to hurt a player group and especially it's members for outside the game reasons is something that I like or enjoy. It's the same idea/mindset than that of those who do things in Open just to spoil the fun of others. It shouldn't be done, even if it's allowed and completely legit to do.

Count me in - anti-pirate wings are the way forward, together with escort wings for traders.

While I don't like the way Code operate, they are right in that we (the other players, traders, explorers) need to get better at our game mechanics and group up to use the game mechanics as they are as well!
