Drew's tricky Elite quiz, separating the Jamesons from the Ryders

Here's one I just thought of.

Extra Bonus Q. We know of one Generation ship. Where did it stop and what's it called?

Cheers,

Drew.

I must admit I was reading the journal entry on the Mayflower as Drew mentioned it in the 'What are the Generation ships drives/ Bussard Ram scoop question" so had the very page open

"Mayflower 97" Tau Ceti

Right on, Commander!

And with 2pm now close (hopefully game servers coming back online in a mo, thus my work here being nearly done) I'll leave you with one from my own contribution...

Q. There was one ship from the original elite that I didn't mention in Elite: Reclamation quite deliberately, but referred to by rhyme. What was it?

Cheers,

Drew.

Damn it Drew! It's as if you know I've got the book in my queue but not got round to reading it yet!

Oooh! That was the Imperial Clipper, if I remember right...

I don't know the answer to the last question but I've just got to mention that was the most enjoyable 12 pages I've read on this forum so far :)

Nice work Drew. Thanks for that :)

I don't know the number Drew, but I'm sure I heard D. Braben once claim that more copies of Elite were sold for the BBC micro, than there were BBC micros! How'd that work? :D

Well, I bought Elite for the BBC B on tape, then on 5.25 disc, and then the BBC Master version on 5.25 disc.
Then on 3.5 disc for the Archimedes version.
.
I bet I wasn't alone in doing that.
.

Krait?.. Lots of words rhyme with Krait.

Yay! And Frank wins the bonus question. :)

Cheers,

Drew.

My pleasure, Commander.

Taking a wild punt in the dark (having not read Reclamations), how about Krait? Seems like a nice word to rhyme!

Available in all good online bookstores... and probably a few dodgy ones too. ;)

Cheers,

Drew.

I was one of the lucky ones to have a copy of Elite burned onto an EPROM. Such a joy to play with zero load times :)
