SCBs finaly nerfed proper

THANK YOU!!

GAWD! I am so sick of clueless players lecturing me on how to fly/fight properly when they have no idea what they are talking about! It is SO OBVIOUS that these people have NEVER encountered the kind of combat situation in a CZ we are referring to.
THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT, WE DON'T BITE OF MORE THAN OUR SHIP CAN HANDLE......can we stop with all the large print now I doubt anyone on here need's it to see you're opinion.

If you are pledged to Hudson, and dropped in you would have noticed that you did not have to {choose faction}. Which means the enemy (non-Hudson ships) are already hostile before your drop from SC is complete. I have dropped into expansions and have been taking fire from at least 10 NPC's IMMEDIATELY. Not to mention if there are players there on the opposite side with the zone "swung" to their favor just waiting for spawns...

There is no "tactical" way to approach this. It is a game mechanic that you cannot "out think".

I mean, you could drop SC some 1Mm+ away... but if anyone thinks that is a "tactical solution" I suggest you rethink what "tactical" and "solution" mean.

If you are in a decently fast ship you can easily outrun the NPCs til they get bored and go back to their routines of killing other NPCs.

Oh the irony.

Easy run to nearest conda, or reverse plus blast away(I fly my Gunship the most so always default to my tactic's in it on the forum). In a Conda, Id hit reverse and blast away, all that firepower they never stand a chance unless my luck's horrible and I drop in with another Conda and other big ship's.

It isn't "easy" to run to the nearest Conda when generally I am the only one... and reverse isn't exactly a fast manuver in a Conda. You are flat out exposed to enemy fire, and it can be quite some time that you are just completely vulnerable. SCB's worked to negate this, and often weren't even enough to negate this. Sure, I blast away and try to swat the enemy, but when you drop in a zone with 3-4 Eagles, 2-3 Asps, and a Vulture or Python or two... maybe even a Conda... Even the thought of "be more tactical" is laughable in this situation. Mind you they all have rails, near 100% accuracy, they also have SCB's, and you may not have 1 ally ship near you...

I don't care how "good" or "skilled" anyone thinks they are, or even legitimately are. You will never convince me that you could come out of these situations in a large ship WITHOUT SCB's.

Gotta laugh when clueless players who fly around in small maneuverable ships go on and on about how easy it is to stay alive in a CZ! Sure! When the enemy could care less about your ship because you pose so little threat, they will always ignore you!

Pythons have a KICK ME sign on their backs! Don't believe me? Take one into a CZ right now and come back and tell us how well you did with no shields! lol!

Pathetic!

First thing I will do is refit my Python and take it to a CZ and show you it ain't that hard.

If you are in a decently fast ship you can easily outrun the NPCs til they get bored and go back to their routines of killing other NPCs.

You are dropped most of the time square in the middle of the conflict. If you are in a "decently fast ship" chances are your shield are gone, and the NPC "decently fast" ships chase. They don't go back to killing NPC's if they can keep up. I have had NPC's pursue me 20Km...

Have you been in an expansion? Try it some time, it is on the surface a HICZ, but getting into them is a task.

To top it off, the feeling I get form your reply is "play the game the way I tell you to"... and when it gets to that point I generally quit playing the game.

Also someone said that we fly around in small ships therefor the NPCs do not consider us a threat. I do fly my Vulture but I have also flown a FAS which is in the same initial price range as the Clipper and Stealth Gamer flys a Gunship which is a couple of mil more and he doesn't seem to have any problems.

In the end I do consider all the NPCs going after anyone as soon as you pick a side a bug of sorts.

The Conda tactic, I have used it and it did work. It only ever didn't work once. Why didn't it work? I drew aggro of a Conda and a Python AND a rail Asp, so it was a no win situation and I accepted my fate and my rebuy. Just because I can apparently do something you struggle with doesn't mean anything(considering it's NPC's doesn't even mean I'm a better fighter) except it IS possible. I only took a Conda into CZ's 3 time's, and only 3 time's was because the ship's not built to be in that situation. It's blatantly obvious the Conda is meant to be a armed merchant ship, it can work in combat without SCB's but only with proper backup. People use the shield recharge time as their argument because it ound's better than "I want to use it outside the role it's designed for" good news for them though the Corvette apparentl work's wonder's with the new Bi-Weave shield's and has more shield's than a Conda if I'm not mistaken.

35mil. plus another 27 or 28 for milllitary bulkhead's before the rail gun's beam laser's and internal upgrade's. I'll have to got to outfiting to see the total price of it but I'd say it's roughly 65-70 mil. total.

My Dropship is 88mil :p

Need I say more? You just illustrated our point.
Ok and? Why shouldn't a big target like a Conda or Gunship require backup? Because they cost alot(namely Conda)? Sorry but these are machine's and in ED you are not Rambo you're "meaningless Pilot's Federation Member #X" and should feel that way.

I B-rated it and only bought Mil. grade bulkhead's, if I were to upgrade to the less durable A grade's I could likely wind up as expensive or more expensive than that but lose some of my toughness.

Expansion is WAY different.

They don't realize that Pilot Rank is higher in Expansiona than in HICZs. I wonder how they would have tactically dealt with the 15 Condas that spawned in a row when we met. So bigger spawns and better equipped ships with infinite ammo, aim bots, and SCBs of their own.

We may have died, just like you may have died. Alone a pilot should deffinitely die in that situation if they can't run fast enough, in a wing depending on how many spawned at once you maybe should've died maybe should've had a chance through teamwork.

I've tried expansion, not really, not by much.

The biggest difference, especially concerning SCB, in the expansion zone is you do NOT pick a side if it is an expansion for YOUR power. It is automatic and happens while you are loading in. Other than that, no not much difference.

Stealth, you've already told me you have next to 0 experience. I have been playing the game almost exclusively in expansion zones for a few months. The Conda tactic you present fails more than it works in my experience. In the same situations I load in I am going to throw the flag that you claim to be able to do something I struggle with. (I don't even care if you ARE more skilled or a better fighter) Skill has zero input here. It is purely the zone that loads, and as far as I know that is random. I can't skill spawn zones.

The "I want to use it outside the role" argument goes nowhere with me on this point. First, it is a multi role ship, so by design it should be viable in combat scenarios. Also, I am still of the philosophy the load out determines the ship roll, not some list. I shouldn't have to roll the dice every time I drop in on an expansion and hope I survive long enough to make a move. Again, SCB's were, and until the update, the only sure way to enter an expansion zone without immediately dying.

But I'm an unskilled pilot who can't hold my own without SCBs.
So you should have read the latest beta update then. If you'd have read the current udate they're still very useful, this whole back and forth has been pretty useless honestly as one SCB act's like 2 as the recharge effect has been doubled and you now need to add a Heatsink and poof heat damege risk is nullified. Just as effective now just you need to sacrifice some shield strength if you want to stop some minor heat damage.

0 experience? Because I see your "problem" as how the game was designed to work? And multi role is not supposed to be great at combat, just average. And with no SCB's the Conda is average and not godly. Also as I told Coffee Math the new SCB's look to be changed to work as a stacked SCB now anyway soon, plus the heat was already not too much of an issue before they buffed the effeciency of Heatsink's.

You are missing the KEY point. I come under fire IMMEDIATELY when dropping in on an expansion. Sometimes by large numbers of NPC's and occasionally players... solo/wing doesn't matter, there is no time to react. Have you ever been shot by 3-4 railgun Asp's at once? Now imagine there are also eagle/vipers, and a few large ships. The ONLY option is SCB's, and even that is not enough at times.

I do not care if they change the game. I think they are catering to folks and I disagree with that, but not my game and not my company. But to "fix" something that could potentially "break" other things is silly at best. I am just voicing my concern about SCB's in how I use them.

I'm fairly sure it doesn't even do that, atleast if memory serves me right.

I read the updates and am happy about it. The first nerf rendered large ships useless in CZs and EZs. My biggest complaint was flying large combat ships is determined unusable with the nerfs applied to SCBs. Seems as if FD agrees.

There is no way to out maneuver the Agro you draw in a large ship. Your tactic of running to a large ship doesn't work when you are that ship.

I'll just accept my rebuy. Come on how many 30-60 million credit rebuys can you afford?

Limiting viable builds in any game like this is a death sentence.
