News Horizons Beta Delay to Monday 30th November

Hmm. Probably going to have to switch my pre-order back to the standard version of Horizons, then. For it to be worth paying for Beta access for me, it really needed to be out this week for our holiday here in the US. The first week of the month is always the busiest for me, so my play time is extraordinarily limited.
Remember that Horizons Beta isn't only for 2.0 Beta, but also most likely for 2.1 Beta, 2.2 Beta etc also (similar to "season one" beta access).

really ? it s not magic ? they dont ask for gandalf so ? or sarumane ? i know the jobs of the devs ...this is not the question ... when i do a mistake i compensate ... that s all ... but i know the dev team make a fabulous job ...

It has already been taken, prior to 1.5.

1.5 Beta and 2.0 Beta will be playing in the same worlds - though we want to encourage 2.0 people to restart (don't worry - it won't affect your main game save), as we have a new on-the-surface start position.

(Oops - I think I just made an announcement...! :) )

Would it look anything like this?

(BrettC, can we have SOILER tags to use for any content which might cause near-middle-aged men to lose control of themselves? ;))

i was happy if you tel us that you give us (horizon beta tester) an extra 1.5 acces ....but ... i think i paid for beta for nothing ...but i understand your problems david ... but ... you maybe should give us something to compensate ?
What about the beta access for the rest of the horizons updates probably around 12 months of changes , hmm?

I only want to say thank you for almost 31 years of space adventure.
If more time is needed to make the best space game ever even better, just take it. Right on!

It will be optional. The restarting from the beginning.
Ok, that was what i was wondering about. So i can use my recent Beta-Save and play the Beta 2.0 with it or i start a new Commander to make sure more People play on Surface and help test out the new Starting-Locations. Also thx Javert and Rootsrat for your Replys.

Wouldn't dying and choosing starter ship suffice?

Forgive me for being silly, but the very PURPOSE of a beta is to find bugs, and the fact that it is a beta denotes that there will be bugs. How can you have a polished beta? That just doesn't make sense. These days the whole beta seems more like early access, with all this 'it's not finished yet' OF COURSE IT ISN'T FINISHED, because it's a BETA.

Oh yes, as everyone says "take as long as you want." It's not as if we paid money for this beta access, is it.

I know everyone likes to have a happy-happy community spirit here; but I just want to put down that a few of us do actually realise there is a business deal going on here: we give FD money; they give us a product. I can accept a few days delays; but not the whole thanking them for that, and this essentially encouraging them to take as long as they want. No.

What if the planetary approach bug resulting in your game-save becoming unplayable without someone at FD poking the database, or SSOD for 5-10 minutes, or just randomly crashing to desktop whenever you get close to a planet? That would send all non-professional beta testers packing fast, the forums would become a dyspeptic cauldron of angst about Horizons, priming Steam reviews to have to work up from Very Negative - not what you want for your product.
