I'm just fiddling wth the settings now. It works, sort of lol. And I'm playing at 1080p. What are your PC specs?

I really like this pic. It's not just dof but the colors, speculars etc. I tried your 1.1 settings but it didn't look like this color wise. Might be that it's working better with 1080p overall. I am running at 2560*1440.
Your settings worked fine with galaxy BG set to 8k. EDFX is lagging alot with the same BG setting but works fine with 4k resolution.

That picture was a little darker due to the exaggerated SSAO. But the Co fig is also different from 1.1 as it's an experimental config. You can find the experimental config at the bottom of the first post. :)
Oh and yes it DOF and SSAO works best at 1080p.

Have you figured out how to have separate HUD colours yet, would be nice to be able to colour the shields and stuff green :D

A quick test shows it's entirely possible to have green shields. :D

No. Separating HUD colors is impossible AFAIK. I would love to separate all HUD elements though and colorize the elements to my liking.
For now, all we can do is trial and error. And visit http://arkku.com/elite/hud_editor/

Yep. FD have admitted that the HUD colors are hard-coded assignments to the HUD as a whole, and they would like to (at some point) re-write the HUD code to separate the elements so users can do exactly what everyone is trying to do.

Hallo Cmdr Insomnia - just a quick note to say I've tried several gfx injectors and this profile is by far the best - vibrant colours and deep blacks without losing too much detail, the game looks even more stunning, and I even like the blue dash, so thanks!

Its wreaked havoc on my CQC ability though, who are friendly again?! yes, I may need to tweak the hud scheme a little!

Thanks! On page 15 (last post I think) I uploaded another HUD theme that might suit your needs better. :)

I never backed up my elite main folder. I now have EDFX installed but I would like to check insomnia experimental version. Main main folder is just so messed that it won't work anymore by just copying right files in to place. If some kind person can show what files were in main folder originally. I can then delete all the other files and start from the clean slate. I would not like to install again cause then I loose my hotas setup.

As Ive never installed or used EDFX I can't say what files it uses.
My Reshade configs uses dxgi.dll, ReShade.fx and a ReShade folder. There are also 3 text files - EULA.txt, README.txt and REFERENCE.txt.

Got it working, thx. 1080p is looking kinda dirty in a good way vs 2560*1440 too clean feeling. But 1080p is just giving jagged lines alot. Any thoughts how to battle against jagged lines if you are not in native resolution?

Then the existing release is the one I'm sticking with. :)

Odd thing happens though, from time to time my FPS drops to about 10 and only happens in station :O - it goes away after about 5-10 seconds. Really weird.
Had same problems TBH so uninstalled it all never really found it as impressive on a 4K Samsung as on a 1080 monitor though. Or perhaps I got to the point of taking the increases for granted.

Yeah that preset looks good at higher resolutions together with supersampling. Otherwise it produces a lot of artifacts.
Best way to eliminate artifacts is to disable Luma Sharpen, disable ioFX sharpening and perhaps even disable the ReShade anti aliasing. I found a decent solution last night to have a little sharpening and a little AA. But I need to test ut further.

One more questiong about superpampling. Do you use in game supersampling or nvidia's? I have never used it so what setting works best?

Here are some screenshots. I am liking this alot but how can you tweak down the milky way brightness so it's not over bright

I love the intense landing pad lights- where every time I land, I feel like I'm in a football stadium... so I do a little "touchdown!" cheer quietly to myself.

Search for: <MilkywayInstancesBrightness>0.04</MilkywayInstancesBrightness>
in GraphicsConfiguration.xml
and change it to something like:
<MilkywayInstancesBrightness>0.01</MilkywayInstancesBrightness>

If your rig can handle it, try turning on DSR of 2x and set the game to double the native resolution of your monitor.
