Its not, sorry. I should have test it before writing stupid things.Nice to have further confirmation of this!
Didn't realise it could be tweaked. I will experiment with it, to see if it is possible to get the game looking like the screenshot.

It is the ambient lighting, it cannot be something else but changing the values do nothing for some reason. No worries.
It's not possible to modify it, or it's not down to Ambient Lighting?

No need for a config file entry as it is now available via the '3' key ...Ok thanks for that. Maybe that setting has been disabled from being modified in the config file.
I'd like some refracted light causing nice rainbow effects amongst the ice fields. That would make for some pretty screenshots.![]()

What looks really nice (and the effect is almost totally lost when the IBL/ambient whatever light is on) are the thinner parts of the ice/rocks letting more light through in contrast to the darker, occluded areas.
This needs to be a meme.
"Oh man, I'm so upset that Horizons isn't coming out for the Mac. But wait, I held down "3", and there is!?! Woop! Woop!"
EDIT 2: I just wanted to add that a few people have commented that the second image (with shadows) may indeed be the "glitched" version, and that instead of shadows the image shows the removal of ambient light. Although I personally prefer the second image by a long margin, I thought it only fair to raise this point in the first post for everyone to see.
Yeah. I pressed 5 during repair, and the 10 CR Bug was gone.
