A most depressing sight

Just how much does one require to obtain total A rated modules for combat in the Python ...to bring that rain of endless destruction??

I appreciate my FAS but i miss the shield power i had with the vulture...and well..the python with the extra hardpoints would be pure fun i assume

FAS with prismatic and heavy armor is more survivable then a vulture.

Nothing can survive an FAS for long.

Mine would cost 160M if I was to replace it...

I used to really like my Python, until I got my Anaconda.

Same for me, specially that, with the Anaconda, I win 99% of my interdictions while I only achieve 50-60% on the Python :/

EDIT: oh, and before you ask, they both have the same 3A FSDI and are both equipped with the A-rated thrusters (not that thrusters might be useful in supercruise but since we still don't know all the interdiction mechanic, you never know...)

After months of saving credits, I finally saved enough for a Python!! Woot!

The pilots seat, felt just the same as my ASP seat, the view out the canopy looked just the same as my asp. Even the control panels were the same!
Then I looked to my right and just stared at the empty co-pilot seat...................

Months of RL work to buy a ship:
That has more firepower, thereby making combat easier
Has a slower turning rate
Can't run from a fight (if needed)
And has a constant reminder that I'm playing this game alone

Anyone else feel this way?

My Python is around 220Mcr without discounts.

I still like my Python for the fact that it can land on M-Pads.

I have to say I made a fairly similar post when I upgraded from Asp to Python as well. I can tell you, as has others, when you do A spec it out the Python becomes a very formidable machine but you need to learn new tactics to get the best out of her...... judicious use of Flight Assist off is one of them, as is using your thrusters, neither of which I needed in the Asp.

Nope. All good here.

As always, your nervous system is your own responsibility. None of what you describe can be attributed to the Python. It might help to research videos and writings of/on ships before undertaking future purchases, so that you may better manage your expectations.

On the plus side, you had fun playing the game, gathering the credits ready for the purchase! Right?

Else..

Still, you are not alone! (You just die alone.)

I LAUGH at your woes OP.

For only when you have saved one billion for an Imperial Cutter, you will know the true meaning of the word: disappointment.

the python, once its had some upgrades done to it flys like a dream, its a great allrounder!!!

For mining it still ends up with 3 harpoints where you can fit some god damned decent weapons for bounty targets of opportunity while still haviung great shields, decent cargo capacity and room enough for a few limpet launchers and a top notch refinery

As a trade vessel, you can defend your cargo much much better and with good thrusters, you can outrun a lot of ships that would otherwise cause you problems and is very versatile as far as places it can dock...

As a combat craft for bounty hunting, assassination missions, combat zones and haz res's it holds it own really well and can go toe to toe with annies and come out on top regularly...

As a fellow Python owner, when I brought my python I had to trade in my 100M federal dropship to pay for some of the upgrades I have done to her, and then earned the rest of the money to pay for the additional upgrades, right now she has mostly A class modules including the A6 shields, I think I am running D rated life support and C rated sensors along with reinforced hull plating, saving up now for military hull plating, only 20 million credits to go for that...
She is currently outfitted for NPC assasination missions and I have about 5.5 million in the 4 or 5 missions i currently have on my list to complete...

Her current value is just shy of 200 million and that will go up to over that when I fit the military hull plating.

I never feel alone with the DB Bobblehead bouncing around on my dashboard :D

I have absolutely zero interest in multi-crew ships. I can think of nothing worse than having a bunch of knobs all floating about in a single space craft. I know SC will have it but if and when it comes to Elite I won't be part of any multi-crew.

Yeh why would you sit in a gunner seat doing nothing for half your time? A ship full of people wanting to be the Captain, welcome to an episode of :):):):):)ing in space.

To the OP there are only two ships you need in Elite. A Vulture and an Asp. That's it, between them you have the best ship at any given task if you change the fitting. The big ships just slow you down and aren't better at any single task. Just less refitting but at that price any refitting is a pain.

Yes indeed. When you put it that way it becomes even more apparent how awful the idea is.

The only way to truly enjoy a maiden flight in your new python (of any spec fittings) is if you have traded up from a type-7 you've been trying to get rid of for a month or two.

I giggled like a 14-yo girl getting an autograph from a Backstreet Boy (or whatever the current equivalent is :D) when I sat in the Python. Flown it for months, loved it. It's the most versatile ship out there, no question. I just happen to love the Asp more.

You may be a victim of fraud. I heard some shops sell counterfeit Pythons which may contain parts, even the entire cockpit, ripped from another scrapped ship, hastily welded onto the "new" "Python". Remember, a genuine Faulcon DeLacy(tm) Python does not have an Asp cockpit, Eagle wings or Clipper nacelles.

Yes and I am very happy about it.
When we can have crew I will buy androids/mechanoids that do what they must and do not want to chitchat.
No other humans allowed on my ships.
