Insomnia FX Elite - Complete Suite

Has to revert to default, I was getting sup-10 FPS quite frequently - trying to figure out what's causing my FPS issues.
Right now, I'm blaming my nVidia drivers.

If you mess too much with xml file you can easily get sub 10 FPS and really big lag to galaxy map.

Well, I copied Insomnia's gfx config file as well as the injector changes. Got the lag. Removed the injectors, lag almost completely gone, it now drops about 5fps from time to time, instead of dropping about 60. I'll fine the issue, just a period of trial and error. :/

Having adjusted the LocalDustBrightness with negative values, the fps is affected. That's why the galaxy map can cause performance drops.
At low quality in-game settings the dust have higher values. At ultra however the value is set quite low and gives a slight performance drop. Wierd...
Did anyone tried to fiddle with the new HBAO?

Damn that's a big drop in performance. :(

Tell me about it. It doesn't really matter what gfx config I use, put on too many settings on reShade or the like and my FPS tanks for a few seconds from time to time - mostly commonly in stations. It's *really* annoying.

i really like that preset, the one thing you cant see in a screen is the interaction between the sharpening and film grain. its subtle, but in motion its a beautiful thing. it really brings out those details! planets for one, and with the horizons beta the generated terrain offers more corners\lines\colors to view. its like night and day. i highly recommend this profile though, not like my opinion carries much weight. the one thing i dislike [and not your fault] is that the folder with the game binary is sanitized after every update :( however i don't know if thats the case with the steam distribution of the game.

I wonder how I could get the milkyway look the same. My milkyway is really blown out in the middle but it's looking the same at the edges. It doesn't matter if I set it -0.01 or -5.0 in the settings, it's still blown out. Galaxy in your pic is looking real nice. Could it be the monitor calibration that is causing it?

lol if it your monitor then no way my pic would look different than yours :D also how exactly do you mean with blown out? maybe you should post your pic.

This is the result if I use the gamma insomnia recommended.

These are the pics where I changed the in game gamma almost all to the left and disabled hdr from reshade. Pics are quite dark compared to other gamma setting but there's mood at least :) Galaxy center is still blown out in small area but much better.

I see... now that's weird, but it's probably your settings was messed up...

so for less blown up images you needed to turn off hdr and set the gamma to minimum? very weird...

If I validate game files so all the 3rd party files are erased and then put 1.1 it's blown out. So it does not get messed with some old files. But I don't know what's causing it. 1.1 experimental is working just fine with high in game gamma.

Just quick question guys- I recently installed Horizons where previously I was running ED from Steam. But now I can't find the main directory to put these reshade files in. Went to %appdata% and there's a Frontier Dev folder in there, but only has an 'options' folder in there.

Anyone know where to find the right folder to add these reshade files?

Cheers

What's your favourite space station interior colouring with or withour reshade? I don't like green interior that much. The blue one in the pic with reshade is one of my all time favourites. Cube station exteriors are always looking real nice.

Hey lads

So I decided to try my hand at getting this to work with Horizons. Some people have got it going so it's worth a try.

I am getting disconnected from the server before the menu even loads. It loads the shaders fine though. I am running the 64bit dll from the website in place of the provided one. Renamed it to dxgi as well.
I checked the log and I see this at the end "| WARN | Reference count for 'IDXGIDevice1' object 0000000044565C60 is inconsistent: 2, but expected 1." I can't find any reference to the aforementioned error.
Also haven't changed the graphicsconfig.xml
I'm guessing I've missed something. Any experienced lads mind lending me some advice :)
Cheers guys

Find your launcher, right click and go to "open file location"
Should be EDlanch/products/PUBLIC_TESTER_SERVER_64

Often any kinds of modifications or injections can result in bans if a game has a multiplayer / online mode. Any chance of something like that happening in E:D for using this in Open play?

I'd say bans happens very rarely and it's often because the automatic scan thingy thinks the direct x injector does something unwanted. Developers are often very much ok with SweetFX and any of its affiliates actually.
FDEV has stated they are ok with it too. ;)
However, there are always risks when using injectors.
