The loss of my Vulture was all my own doing. Sorry to tarnish the clean slate. I was just too slow hitting the SCB and while the shields were down I took a pounding from that Annaconda. Maybe I'd be harder to hit if I didn't paint my ships orange.

Anyway, the re-buy was 'only' 600k and my role was to draw fire so all is good.

I had a ball, thanks to Mr P for herding us all and to the rest present for leaving a wing slot open.

By "no logo" I mean that the missions on the bulletin board only had the eye icon, they didn't have a faction logo like other screenshots have shown. I assume this is because 49 Arietis is independent.

Perhaps it is not an eye. Perhaps it is the silhouette of a planet within a strange altered orbit line of a moon or wrecked ship or the like. Or both. Perhaps it represents Merope. I think we need to start looking for a strange tower there. <tinFoilHatFirmlyInPlace/>

Alternatively... you might just follow the clues to a distant planet orbiting a large red sun, and on that planet, amidst the ruins of a dead civilisation you will find a colossal monument sunk halfway into the ground causing it to spell out the words "Go stick your head in a pig" in the local dialect...

Looks like randomly. I first thought it was on the damaged stations.


This could be very big this may be the beginning of a new type of event outside the UAs.... I think I'll investigate further but as someone said before Ai comes to mind right off the bat.. Hello World! ? That's basic programming sort of like HAL learning a song...


We may be in big trouble.

AI? Are they starting to come back? I guess I should be expecting that...there's already a few in inhabited areas that are known and working with humanity. Now...if they start popping up after Horizons, and are some of the nastier ones from the age of the AI wars...

I've seen them all over the place, at undamaged stations and planet-side ports.

Going strictly by lore I don't believe there were actual Ai wars... All the major factions basically started research and came to the realization (rather quickly) that Ai was more Terminator than R2-D2 so they stopped all research and dropped it.

Now. That doesn't mean that some more unscrupulous independent splinter groups or independent researches didn't get the memo and forged on with fully functional Ai constructs with obvious negative consequences and that we are now starting to see the effects of it.
