UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

I mean, what other Player Groups can support us and our ideas about UA (eg stopping sales of UA). But I'm not entirely sure.
Possibly the EDC vanguard or other "law enforcement" style player groups, mercenaries, etc?

CMDRs,

Has anyone analyzed the sounds of malfunctioning stations?

I am curious if there are any differences between uninfected stations, malfunctioning stations, and shut-down stations.

While I personally believe that UAs damage stations just as they do ships - rather than being an infectious agent - if it was actually infecting a station it would be reasonable to think that the station would begin to inherit aspects of the UA itself. The UAs obviously communicate via their sounds (morse code). Maybe the infected stations do too?

I may need a new roll of tinfoil.

GBob

I think that's a good idea.

Guess the request to stop selling those UAs fell on deaf ears. ;)

Well, to be fair there was never really any "official" statement issued, just some back-and-forth discussing IF that should happen. It never did, the spread goes on.

*shrug*

"It's the same story as at those other starports – system failures, blackouts, all that stuff. At this rate, half the starports in the galaxy are going to be out of order before long. Someone needs to figure out what the hell is going on, and fast!"

What ever we decide to do, we need to decide soon.

Ok, maybe, just maybe this isn't linked to the UA's after all. We've tested the mechanism and proven that it doesn't work that way and now we're assuming FDev are pulling the triggers from watching our online activity. Perhaps we should go back to the start with our thinking and see if we can identify another possible cause.

Yeah we have been falling into the correlation as causation rut with this one, but it's hard to see much of the forest from this particular tree.

What would you suggest?

^this. why didn't I think of that. FD has obviously put a lot of effort into the sound design of this game.

(nobody seemed to notice my previous post about Lobachevsky Outpost being back online...)

I saw that, has anyone undertaken any particular rare-or-other-commodity-sales there?

The sound-of-malfunctioning-stations is another good lead.

Any non-horizions players want to check that out while the Horizons group scours the merope system?

Also non horizons players can also get recordings of UA pictures of the new ship types.
Great idea to do a recording of an infected station BTW rep fer that one.

So with Horizons here in the wild very shortly i though it might be interesting to hear what peoples predictions of UA behavior, i'll go first
!. The UA sphere grows to about 300 LY from good old Merope.
2. The UA produces a picture of the Corvette in the same messy random style as the drawing for the Anaconda that may or may not point to important modules
3. We will get more evidence that these things mean us harm.

i'm interested in what other people think on that one.

That is interesting... and was it always under the control of Sirius inc.? Because if not, I'm getting even more suspicious about them... (not that I've posted my suspicions previously, but I definitely had them)

Hmmm, so excuse me whilst I hunker down behind this everything-proof thingamawhatsit......
Right then <safely ensconced>
I'm always a little sceptical of the sort of post that runs along the lines of 'has anyone done' this or that or the other.

Look Commanders: Many people have done lots of STUFF™, but discoveries are made by people actually doing the STUFF™, not merely suggesting that others go do it.

You get me? <more wandering off muttering about swodding trolls>

Was it closed and now it's back up again?
At least no one sold anything there while it was closed :)

When Michael said we would be able to heal stations soon, i didn't expect that soon :)

I've just headed there, and it is definitely up. I only have the Galnet post (with all affected stations) to go on though, I didn't personally check it was down before. I don't know if anyone else has.

So you think suggesting things for people to do that can't survey Merope like that rest of us is a bad thing?

Actually, just realised that Sirius Inc. is not the same group as Sirius Corp, never mind. These are democrats rather than an corporation... player group?
