UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

Well that was a waste of time, started at 75 Ly from Merope going out 10 Ly at a time to try and see if the Shell had expanded/contracted. Went out to 300 Ly but all the UA's still in the shell. Did find a few picked one up. Morse seems the same. I don't know if my eyes are going but is the distortion effect getting stronger, at one point I was getting almost a double image of the UA video attached.

Report so far.

Shell appears as before (simple single check on route in).

UA appears the same.

On Merope 2A found:

1) Odd wreckage. Couldn't place the ship. Rusty colour and a bit triangular. Had Cargo Rack, couldn't free cargo. Accidental destruction of cargo rack. Was in foothills of a mountain.

2) Found a small outpost, I negotiated entry with the 4 sentries, then had a polite discussion with the data point, seems it gave away some Intel the Federation will pay 15k for.

I think (1) poss more interesting. Will keep searching.

I'm missing all the fun, damn it! Good luck CMDRs!

Back to REAL SCIENCE:

I can confirm that new ships almost surely have their own ships drawings!
Just checked Keelback and Asp Scout, and new morse sequences are being sung by the UA.

The Keelback one is very long, so I stopped my recording earlier just to check another ship, I will do a full recording later.

The Asp scout is shorter so it was easy to get all the sequences:

Code:
AJGFGJ AJGJEK AJEKBL
BLEKBM BMEKFL BMFLCO
COFLHL COHLDR DRHLMP
DRMPRU EKGJHL EKHJFL
GFKFNI GFNIGJ GJNIHL
HLNIMP KFOGNI MPNIRU
NIOGTI NITIRU RUTIXQ
RUXQVV

As you can see just copying and pasting the sequences in the morse drawer tool here, there's a brand new, very stylized, drawing :D
Now that I've switched to an NVIDIA GPU, I can use ShadowPlay to do very easy recordings, with no issues. ;)

Nice job (as always)! So the UA sings the Keelback, very interesting given the fact it's basically a Type-6 with...More weapons, amirite?

Currently have 6 days pending on the download timer.....I'll be there eventually, but it might be faster to pull my hardrive, and overnight it to FDev and ask them nicely to install horizons and the 1.5 patch directly and overnight it back.

I am 335 LY away from Merope.
In a 16ly/jump python. My ASP 32LY/jump is 50ly away.

Should I go get my ASP or get there in my Python?

@LordZoltan:
the new morse sequences seem just a content addition to the already known UA behavior, nothing more. BTW the T-ships still behave as in 1.4, spelling the nearest object name and not their drawings, so we can assume it's not a bug, because if they've added new sequences to the UA they could have fixed it as well, no? Perhaps...

I have a hypothesis on this:

Originally, regardless of ship, the UA's sang the morse of the nearest celestial object.

We started experimenting, destroying some intentionally or inadvertently.

Regardless, humanity and human ships have been identified as a threat to the UA's, except I see some form of intelligence, in that

1) They started scanning us
2) They have identified threats from non-threats in terms of ships because
3) They draw combat capable ships via morse coordinates
4) They do NOT draw ships intended for trading
5) They have been able to distinguish between the T6 and Keelback as a non-threat/threat, and behave accordingly.

I would propose that we emphasis the use of T ships in any further UA dealings...

Counterpoint, the orca is a designed as a passenger liner and is still drawn as I recall, as is the hauler which is designated a small freighter.

Is it still degrading the hulls of the ships it isnt drawing?

8 minutes Until I'm done with work for the day.....................

The creators of the UA may have chosen the T-ships as UA-transporting ships, that would explain why they are not seen as threats by the UA. Remember the UA Convoy and the T-9 transporting it? (Poor explanation I agree...It could well be a bug.)

Don't trading ships of larger capabilities feature a multitude of airlocks and pressurized cargo storages?
Maybe that shields them from the radiation?

I'm currently at Maia, my gunship is fit to go, if you need a hand, UA on board.

I also passed a destroyed imperial ship on the way (salvageable wreckage).

Okay so the shell hasn't changed?

Damn - so the hunting grounds are still there, with UAs ready and waiting to be picked up to be used as weapons...

But there must be something new. Hope this new morse of yours provides something, Riz.

Also - it's a joy to see how many people are heading to Merope.

I'm dripping hope on this screen right now.

Uh...

Yeah, forget I said that.

Science on!! O7
Open or Mobius?

Hey, I can hop on and buy either a Cutter or Corvette fir testing if someone can confirm no one else has already supplied this. I have shadow play and a 120mbs connection with decent upload. Will I get a credit in the Canonn history books? :)

The lights are timed with the whale noises, same as always, and almost synced to a 1/8th rotation, still the same. Still turns red when ejected, everything still in the same timing. 1.5, in Merope.

I suspect the launch trailer structure are where the UA are being launch from.

We can only hope it somewhere in Merope and remain hidden until I get Horizon.

Well, if you think you'll gonna use that/those ship, then yes. Otherwise I don't want you to spend hundreds of credits to throw them in the trash later ;)
BTW, your name will be carved on the walls of Thompson Dock as "The one who provided clear and fine recording of the UA sound emitted in front of a Corvette/Cutter.
May he be remembered for the centuries to come."

No one else has supplied this, no sir. Horizons came out something like 2 hours ago you know :D
