See I don't think the UA was pointing to Merope.. It was pointing further.. When viewed somewhat from the bubble it is in line..
I think Merope is just a relay..

I was out for IRL stuff for Two days and lots of drama happened inbetween
Sad to see that SilentPact and Clavain are out, i feel your frustration guys, but i condamn the way you're expressing it.
We are civilized people.
Anyway, thanks MB for clarifying about the Tx drawing bug, even if it's a bit late it's good to know.
For all the people asking for clue, you might want to bring back some memories from few months ago : we had several stall, but we always continued until finding something new
It's been a bit of waiting pre-horizons, and we are only a few days post-Horizons.
Most of the players are still figuring about new gameplay mechanics, new trade routes, new missions and so on.
Please be patient, the UA Mystery never failed to amaze me on how genius some people are, and seriously, i love this whole community we made.
I contributed very little to this giant quest for mystery, yet i'm everyday or so reading since the very first threadnaught, always enjoying it.
Stay focused, stay sharp, stay tinfoiled, and please have some biscuit with a glass of good old whisky !

I thought the consensus was that we should. Of course, anyone can do whatever they like.
It's not just your video. Many other tests have been done, even yesterday, and the UA is still pointing DIRECTLY to the center of the star, after being deployed inside the system. everywhere around Merope star.
Here is the "special" Salvageable Wreckage with rescue team, we were talking about yesterday, huge wreckage, canisters all around, them scooping and chatting, with their nice red and white paint-jobs:

And with this I expand my Maia theory just a bit more...
UA points directly at the center of Merope....why? At the center of Merope (a star..) there is its core which is usually what is left over after a star ceases to exist over time. The possibilities that we know of are 1. a white dwarf, 2. a neturon star, 3. a black hole. The conditions that determine which of the three outcomes you get are pretty much known at this point and that is mainly one... Mass. The more massive the star the more likely it is to leave a black hole. Something over 2 solar masses is more than likely going to go supernova and leave a black hole..... like HR1185, and Maia B. Also Merope is a B star which are known to be some of the hottest and shortest lived stars. I've said before that there may be a chance that UA's are trying to indicate that Merope's day as a main sequence star are numbered and that we should be looking there for a catastrophic event. Palin may be looking at clues as to how the UA's are doing that by studying up a model system which features BOTH an active star of roughly the same age as Merope as well as Merope's most likely future state, Maia B.
That's of course in addition to all the nefarious things I alluded to earlier.
Will be joining you guys fully starting this weekend when I can get my Asp out to Maia/Merope.
In the meantime, regarding Palin's CG. Is it normal for planetary ports to have THAT many evacuation shelters? Or is Palin EXPECTING something bad to happen?

You just missed my post. If I was a few LY away from a supernova I'd definitely want as many shelters as possible...... Personally I'd be a few HUNDRED LYs away but the things people do for science...

Certainly seems like a disaster is expected.
This is an interesting theory. It makes me wish that the ED universe was a little more dynamic. I would love the chance to watch a supernova go off. I'm sure the logistics of doing that in a shared universe would be pretty mind-boggling figure out, but it would still be awesome. I know people talk about the lack of "story" in ED, but from my perspective, the universe is the story, and that's where I'd like to see more depth. I'd like to see cepheid variables pulsate, neutron stars shoot out polar jets, stellar winds buffet the ship, etc. It also bugs the poop out of me that certain nebula look the same in the 34th century as they do in the 21st even though we know that they change over time.
I can't help but wonder about the tea. Is it an attempted nod to the Canonn (no biscuit commodity in-game), is it some sort of hint (with the Heike Tea previously being important), or is it just a nonsense cheap commodity that has a chance to randomly spawn in random POI's anywhere?
I've found random stashes of gold, but I've only ever seen tea in the mini-bases, and only ever seen mini-bases with tea.

I guess UAs were taken to all the approachable planets at Merope, did it give any other morse than just the name of the body?
I'll start doing that now, but if someone tried already there's no point in wasting time.
BTW in real life I work at the air traffic industry and so far UAs behave a bit like an NDB/VOR radio navigation relay where Merope is the center.
Also I totally agree with simply flying above planets and scanning them is not the way to go. Or if that method holds the answer we're in seious trouble, flying just one full circle around an Earth-sized planet might take around 25-30hours with the current speed we can fly, plus the landings to check POIs.
