I bought it but honestly with the current content it's not worth it's price tag.
We'll see over the next year if it is worth it.

If it's not, then I won't be buying any further expansions at full price.

I bought it on Steam today. This is my very first experience with any kind of Elite game. It could be awesome but unfortunately lots of missions are almost impossible to do. Sometimes I just wast hours for one quest and cant find the way how to do it. I think the missions are automatic generated too, so its also very hard to find a help on the internet. I do realy hope this will be changed, because now it is very frustrating.. :(

I will purchase when some of the bugs I'm reading about in the forums have been worked out. Seems a lot of them should have been found by the beta testers.
I'm still enjoying the hell out of ED however.

I can't play at all!

I liked the Beta but I have not been able to play any version of Elite since the Horizon release of the new Launcher. All I get when I press the PLAY button is the bottom area goes black and then the PLAY button comes back. Yes I have reported it and have not heard anything back about the problem. It sucks because I can't even play the original 32bit Elite: Dangerous. I am just completely unable to play. Sigh.......:(

No, and dont plan to as long as FD continues its current approach. I have a real issue with FD's marketing strategy and direction.........The obvious cash-grab and diming can only hurt FD's future prospects. Maybe thats what they plan to do, gouge the players until its dry then close up shop? I dont know but it IS a strange direction.

The approach of releasing an entirely viable expansion (by any industry standard) and continuing to add content to it throughout the year giving players the option of purchasing at the beginning and enjoying the content the entire year, or buying it as an entire complete package the following year with absolutely no penalty? Yeah, terrible money grabbers!

No(t yet)

Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but haven't seen enough new content to justify any more cash - not to mention still waiting for some of the beta/merc content we are still owed from a year ago. Depending on how/if horizons develops, and if the yet to be delivered stuff is actually delivered, then maybe, probably

I need teeth, and new glasses, more than I need a dune buggy. :(

Are you serious?

I agree that the missions are sometime impossible to complete. I was sent to a base that doesn't exist yesterday :) however still love the planetary landings and that alone make it worth the money to me.

Yes and I'm very happy with what I got for my money. Funny how the majority of people agree with me and the naysayers and whiners are actually the minority by a large margin. :) Just goes to show how the most vocal are rarely the majority.

Lol, these poll results so far are the polar opposite of what anyone looking at the forums would think right now.

Have some rep!

YES: But unable to play due to one or two game breaking issues.

1. I cant bind anything so I cant use my X55 the way I want and I cant use VA. (sent a ticket on tuesday still no reply..)
2. Not sure if this is still an issue, but AMD cards had lots of lag before.

I have not been able to play in months. Really frustrating and disappointing.

When the game was released just over a year ago, there were just as many threads about how this game is deep trouble, how it will fail miserably, and how something should be done about it. And in one of those threads I posted this:

Complaining about stuff is always more psychologically rewarding than praising. If you go "this game will fail miserably, mark my words" you will feel superior over all those people who've worked to make the game, and also over all those who think the game is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Boy, you know something they don't! You've been around and you've seen it all! And you feel oh so good about it.

On the other hand if you say "I've never seen anything this amazing!" that could also be interpreted as "you haven't really seen all that much". You're an unsophisticated noob.

This seems to me as relevant as it was a year ago.

I'm a kickstarter backer, and I backed enough to have a lifetime pass. And I also bought a ton of skins when I tried the Horizons beta because I felt guilty for paying so little for the only game I've been playing since May 2014. I also bought the game for a friend in February, and then got him into Horizons. And I got myself another account on the Black Friday sale.

Does that make me a white knight? A fanboy?

Yep, I have it. And right now, I don't think it's worth the money. Frontier needs to stop billing it as an expansion, and more like "kickstarter 2.0". You're paying for content in the future.

Yep. Pre-ordered. Tested. Complained about it. But in the end still happy.
Becoming a bit tired of them selling incomplete things though, but we do know we'll get more later, so.. yeah.. allright.
(Now just fix those darn bugs!)

Not bought it yet, because I've only had ED for three weeks, and I'm still busy learning the basics of spaceflight etc. Landable planets would be too much of a distraction - if I'd got Horizons, I'd probably have had to go off and check to see if this really was made of custard, like it looks:

I think it must have an atmosphere though - so no landings for the moment, anyway. Probably just as well, as (per a very old joke), it is probably inhabited by elephants with yellow-painted feet...
