Interesting for a 2nd post for someone that reg 12/2014 can't see your first post...
I imagine it had something to due with throwing starving dog's some bones with 95% of the meat stripped off ^^^
If this is a hint, why use inactive account so we doubt the authenticity of the image.
12 day old account, first post is here. Colour me skeptical.
Google image search turns up nothing for now.
Lol, this forum is so highly strung for any type of info relating to the infamous 'There's something out there wink wink' DB line that it's no wonder that some might very well throw in pics, dubious or otherwise, just for a wee bit of fun. It's like throwing a Double-Cheese burger in the air at a weight-watchers convention, sitting back and seeing the fun develop![]()

Good work. I see three options:
1. Fake.
2. The system has a geen planetary nebula.
3. The barnacle emits green gass, like the UA.
There's no need of a green nebula: if you go back some pages, you'll find a psychedelic green planet I found in Pleiades, With the main star Blue/greenish.
It was awesome!
Later Red Wizzard took a picture of it:

Yes, but in this pic the star itself is green.
Funnily enough, I was just in a green nebula, the Spirograph Nebula (tiny one-star nebula). Sadly, all I found was a surefire way to knock 50% hull integrity off my ship on a 2.2G planet.
Yeah, definitely a wrong 'un - I reckon that's a blue star (yes, possibly Merope, but there are a good few million candidates) and that the whole pic's been pushed through a green filter to enhance the alienness of it.
The bottom slice of the barnacle is a direct lift from the video, mirrored, and then the rest is added on top.
The ambient lighting for the planet surface doesn't quite match the colour of the star for me. Although that could just be my tired, tired eyes
The shadow from the SRV is the wrong direction.
And I don't think in-game that the lights off the SRV have either that hue, or give that type of flaring.
It is a very good pic - but ultimately, as an addition to the barnacle mystery, utter bobbins.
Just woke up (feeling the 3 bottles of red from yesterday) pulled the sleep from my eyes and then saw that pic, i nearly spat me teeth out.
Great work on debunking it LZ.
I've let the side down: only one (admittedly very good) red and a strong Porter; nearly fell asleep, then jumped into the game in the wee hours, after the rest of the Clan Zoltan conked out, to increase my fed rep. Now wanted in three systems. Oops!
Although the game kept insta-crashing for the first 45 minutes - I think the computer had a hangover too...
