Last one I had of those was in Sol.

It was a lat/long distress, for Charon. Went out there found crashed Anaconda, there was one of those cargo racks there, shot it to get what was inside, game crashed every single time, submitted bug.

Havent decoded your one but I suspect the same, I think Frontier have essentially a random missions that spawns as a local news article which is really quite neat. :)

Give it a go, would love to know what was in the cargo rack. :)

I'd advise taking a small ship, the one in Sol was a nightmare to find a landing spot.

I've never decripted a morse before so - . and whats the other simbol?

Starts out "MAYDAY". Couldn't translate the rest though. Need a higher res.

*edit* sorry, it was my screen. translating now.

I messed up the translation but you can get the jist:

MAYDAY. THIS II CANSPORT 8529 QYDAY. WERE GOI<KN>DOWN.OURPOSITION IS FUR-#E 4A, LATITUDE 14, LONTNITUDE 14H.I REPEAT,WERE GOING DOWN. MAYTIAY.

lol I speed typed it out into a translator but yes it is lat/long of a place on Furbaide 4A

thank you! will check out!

I can confirm that Lobachevsky Outpost in Pic Tok is now indeed shut down. I'm currently docked.

Bug fixed?

Strange. There still has been no announcement that services are suspended there (on GalNet website) and it seems odd to finally suspend them almost 1 month after they were included in a summary of suspended services. I'll check GalNet in game later but don't expect to find anything.

Right. I haven't made it as far as Warkushanui, but these are the demands on other stations:

Bond Hub, Varati - 15,605

Hinz Hub, Ngobe - 12,485

Tsunenaga Dock, Iapodes - 1,131

Ray Gateway, Diaguandri system -57,298

Vizcaino Enterprise, Nganji system - 62,298

Not affected:

Walker Survey (where jmanis was selling) - 7,397

And a couple of randoms I passed at for repairs:

Disch Dock, Sekenks - 9,439
Sheckley Station, Oisi - 31,628

So far, I'm not seeing a real pattern yet, unless we knew what the demand was at all the station prior to the technical difficulties starting....

I suppose if selling 1131 at Tsunenaga Dock shuts it down, we might be on to something, but otherwise - It's probably just generated by the BGS based on wealth and system population. I wanted to check more stations, but I was constantly being interdicted by pirates and taking heavy damage before escaping.

Those are the only two symbols.

Just type it out like this

-- .- -.-- -.. .- -.-- .-.-.- / - .... .. ... / .. ...

You'll have that done in no time, use / for the big spaces since those are word separators.

Be careful it's easy to mistake .... for ...

Then paste it all into here : http://morsecode.scphillips.com/translator.html

Then go do the mission. :)

Then come back and say what happend!

Not really, some are randomly generated, but others have been specifically placed to be found.

Michael

So here we are, thanks Michael.

Now bear with me for a moment, CMDRs, while tightening your tin foil hat:

Assuming that Mr Brookes was also referring to those Nav Beacons found very far out from the bubble, where No nav beacon should be, I really think that these abandoned Nav Beacons far away from us, are the concrete REPLY from FD, to our questions about WHY THE UA IS TALKING MORSE?

These "entities" who created the UA, learned our MORSE just STEALING our nav beacons, took with them wherever they are, used them, then thrown them away.
In short, I'm assuming that these Nav Beacons are some kind of breadcrumbs to the UA creators.

That said, I would really like to listen to the MORSE these beacons emit. I've visited hundreds of POIs so far, and I never found one of them. Are they visible from ship?
Does anyone have a recording of one of them?

Thanks for your time.

I found my share of them, and crudely trying to decrypt the morse they emit, it seems it's the name of the main star. I could be very wrong though.

I suppose we could find a station not already affected with a very low demand, and see if selling the demand amount does the trick. Then we could find another with a high demand and sell the amount sold to the first, to see if that does nothing. It could prove the mechanic, it's possible that this is what went wrong with Jmanis' test.

Are people actually getting triggered by developers giving us clues to help us find objects somewhere out there in the Milky Way Galaxy? A galaxy with over 400 billion star systems to search? Is this a real thing? Inb4 I lose all hope in humanity.

Out of rep atm, I suspect you're right about the UA morse. I don't have any recordings, but I have found them as far about 9,500ly from Sol. this was as far as I could get out of the outer rim past the Heart Nebula in the direction I was travelling, before I started moving back in to more concentrated stars (made a few 25 and 50% FSD boost jumps to reach a few out there).

I've only really been doing the Data Link scan and not listening. However, I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that they just morse something like: "B-R-O-K-E-N"

I haven't been able to pick them up from the ship, but when I find them, I usually haven't even seen a POI at all, just started picking them up from a distance in the SRV.

From what I've seen from other forum threads about it they transmit "BROKEN" over and over, but I'd guess if some are special then they may transmit something else, and I haven't listened to the morse from one myself to confirm that is what they say.

Good shout though on those being the reason why the UA's know morse!

You gotta use some brainsmerts to narrow it down. For instance, since the UA's point at Merope, the faintest star for marrying a mortal, I'm currently searching the 'faintest' planet in Atlas, Merope's dad. It's a system with seven planets, and 6 are high metal content, 6 are big, 6 are planets. One is 'Moon Merope', and I search there. No guarantee, but I think you're the only one silly enough to think people are searching 'the Galaxy'. =]

lol... just made it to Merope from Sol, and now this distress call from Furbaide comes up...I'm not lucky XD

Let us know what's going on there :)

That's part of the Xmas treasure hunt. Nothing to do with the UA.

Ah ok, thanks ;)
