If it helps anyone simmer down a little

I've just read that pre ordering an HMD today won't lock you into a purchase (no deposit) and there is no limit on pre orders.
Obviously this has a few implications for this discussion and maybe lowers the temperature a bit.
For my part I agree that I'd like more detail on the issue FD is facing and I'm keen for full support for both Vive and Oculus to be in the game. I can't play it on a monitor again and as I've said before I'd never expected to have an experience like it in my lifetime. So I'm as excited as anyone to get ED running on a consumer HMD as early as poss.
However the conspiracy stuff is nonsense. If FD had dropped oculus support they would say so. There would be no reason not to. Is there a chance they won't be a able to resolve the technical issue before oculus release, even at all? Yes. And at that point they'll say so. Why is the vive logo there and oculus not? There is full support for vive in its current form, there is not for oculus. How do we know that doesn't mean oculus is abandoned? FD have said so.
At least now you can hedge your bets without risk of losing money on an HMD you don't want. For a while at least.
