I have said it once but I will repeat since everything is getting lost in this thread, I've added a picture this time, This is what the place it was found looks like from orbit:
See how it's pretty damn obvious?

So why didn't you find it then? You really think that none of us thought to look in these places?

...Now what?

On the marking - I'm not convinced it looks like Barnards loop, and if it does it's only from a certain direction that there would be that resemblance. Having said that...

If you go in galmap and look at only class B's like Merope there is a trail of them that lead to Barnard's loop.

Michael's comment about the 'nebula' (singular) they can be found in being linked to their origin is difficult (especially after the 'good thinking' comment that led everyone away from Merope) - could he have meant the OTHER nebula they can be found in, or does he mean that they are ONLY found in the Pleaides. Michael - care to comment?

Do you understand how big that area is??? It's hardly a surprise I didn't find it! It would have taken HOURS just to search that one section thoroughly enough to find that, people seem to be forgetting about the scale of these things.

Congrats CMDR on finding one

Can someone post a screenshot of the site from altitude so we can get a look at the geography/geology around the area?

Dont know why but the code changed a bit in Galnet on the homepage.

b?n?r? ??a??t L??: 27.?3 ??n?: 9?.??

b?n?r? ??a??t L??: 2?.?? ??n?: 9?.??

interesting, I just refreshed the page and the 7 in "27" was replaced with ?.

2 possibilities... either it was too easy, or "27" was wrong.

remember guys it says "approximately" 23 ly.

Yep, thats are surface coordinates from a planet, latitude and longitude. But where. >_<

Search in all system near 23ly... for binary planets... and search on them for some coordinates near the one in the news...

o_o

Well don't come on and tell the rest of us that it's obvious then! And I know perfectly well the scale of it thank you very much!

A couple of videos of the barnacle/meta-alloy retrieval. Max settings, 1080p. (Second part hasn't quite finished processing in HD, should only be a few minutes though.) There's a very small amount of voice chatter, just ignore it.
