besides the only ban happy forum is this one, where insulting posters get a free ride, and critcism of game mechanics is considered "baiting", resulting in a ban. Got it all on record.

If you dislike it here so much, why do you come back constantly? You may have backed ED, but there is no obligation to come here.

SC Fanboi forum troll. Has never contributed anything constructive, spouts the same crap over and over again. Ignore feature is a great help.

not an SC backer and glad of it, for one i don't like the design of the ships - they are too plane like, why have wings in space when there is no need for them? its not as if they aid flight as a square box will fly as well in space.

I know

I know some of them remind me of the simpsons episode where homer designs a car !

I did like the asteroids breaking up into chunks when hit, or at least some of them. A nice effect but you would probably want that restricted to a smaller number of respawning asteroids. You don't want to get groups of players setting themselves the task of completely clearing out an an entire asteroid field or belt! :)

Actually in the old school Space Traders Flight Manual destroying asteroids merited a bounty because they were perceived as a threat to planetary bodies and man made structures.

I did ask in the DDF about this a while back in the Fiction section. :)

$40 millions for SC........and We saw nothing special I think. Looks like arcade flight model, this space ship is not spinning at all :) and this......"lasers" :) hihi

Alpha 1.1 in Elite looks better :) much, much better.

Elite governs !!!

SC are taking the hyper realism route graphically speaking, but the combat doesn't really look fun in any way, shape, or form. The flying 3D locking reticle is an absolute eyesore and just a tad cheesy.

This is only the DFM though, Chris Roberts is also promising the FPS portion and the Squadron 42 Single Player Campaign. This sounds large in scope, but I guarantee it won't be. Remember Privateer? Freelancer? People remember these games with rose tinted glasses, but I'm not one of them. While I was a fan of Chris Roberts story-telling style, his 'open-ended sandbox' games were nothing more than big promises and ideas, which ultimately led to an Frontier Elite-Lite situation. I'm seeing the same parallels with Star Citizen.

tell ya one thing....

the NPC AI in that demo looks like they studied under the tuition of the pilot of the "solar fluke" :)

Don’t tar everybody with the same brush, yes, you can get loud mouth, brash Americans, but that is not all, if we were all the same as a species, or same as a nation, we’d all be pretty boring & we’re not. So PLEASE, I implore you, don’t do it.

I thank you. :)

What stereo type?

Because the ships in SC are designed to fly in atmosphere as well as space.

Seriously the last thing I ever thought I'd read is a post ragging on SC's ship design, on a game's forum that makes it's ships all look like low res cheese wedges.

what's wrong with foldout wings? would make more sense to me for them to only be there when you need them - otherwise they are vulnerable to being shot to bits &/or burning away before you even get that far into atmosphere.

Ah, the old "cheese wedge" routine. One of those "maybe if we keep repeating it, it'll become true" things.
