I see arriving the alpha 4.0 in a few days. The players of the alpha 4.0 will make of videos on Youtube and this will bring some additional buyers interested by the version 4.0, the pre premium beta, and also the insurance to 50%
Will all this be added between alpha 4 and the 16th of May?
I do not think so. The Alpha and the betas, mainly concern the essential functions of the game, and the different modules of the game will be added gradually during the alpha 4 and two betas and gamma (with updates). Because everything can not be shown before the retail release of the game. In my opinion.
So the one point we would like clarifying is whether or not Alpha 4 is the Premium Beta candidate. If it is, then it follows that Alpha 4 is released around the 15th. If not, I'd expect it to be released soon, maybe before Easter.
If I was to guess, the second beta and gamma will be all about balancing the game and adjusting the 'flow' of the game and the first beta will be about fleshing out the mechanics (which should ideally already be in at that point)
They may have decided to start beta before all the mechanics are in place or they may have very rudimentary versions of those mechanics already ready to go in.
Certainly yes. In all cases, they will be obliged to keep from the secret, some aspects of the game, until of the final version is released
That was how I interpreted it to be honest. I can't see it being a cube only 5.8 ly per side. That would be a really tiny amount of space to fly around in, and unless it was situated somewhere near the galactic core, or another denser part of the galaxy, you wouldn't be able to fit many stars into that volume.Perhaps FD messed up with their terminology and meant a cube with sides of 200 LY...
whooooaaaa
i feel electrified
may is soooo near
200 yrs light cube... anyone knows about 'how may star systems are in that cube' ?
117,000-120,000 star systems according to DB during the Scot Manley interview....![]()
You only needed the one station to test docking and outfitting. Why would you need more than a couple of systems to test the framshiftdrive, hyperdrive and trading?
Probably for a viable trading game loop. It would be good to have a variety of goods to trade and a small group of systems to support this. Just having two systems and some simple milk run between them wouldn't be very exciting. Functional perhaps but not fun and certainly wouldn't be a good test of the trading mechanic. You only needed the one station to test docking and outfitting.
