Beagle Point event for Monday 4th April :

Whack-a-Rat Round 2



  • From 20:00 Gametime, 7 hours later for USA group.
  • Darwin's Legacy basecamp.
  • Round 2 - a chance for last nights rats to become hunters, and last night hunters to become rats.


Hunters and Spotters, please be careful - we lost an Asp Explorer during yesterdays game after it clipped a ridge. The destroyed ship had low hull to begin with so if your ship is already in bad shape after the trip out here, best be a rat instead of a hunter.


After Whack-a-Rat we can round off the evening with a cross country SRV Deathchase. Everyone in SRVs, racing from Darwin's Legacy to the top of Sanctuary Hill - shooting and ramming of one another is highly encouraged!

The first 3 SRVs to reach the top of Sanctuary Hill automatically become allied and must then fend off anyone else from making it to the summit.

So regarding the Podar exploration event on the 5th, a few of us trekked out there a day early. Don't count on your route plotter being co-operative, but if you plot in short hops of 100ly at a time or so and hang to the "inside" of the rim it isn't too bad. I didn't need any jumponium in my 33ly Asp, and honestly most jumps were under my range by a good bit. Just a bit zig zag getting there though.

Jaredd and I landed on the closest moon to the ringed ELW, the view from out here is well worth the trip!

Wednesday 6th April : SRV Destruction Derby

Date & Time :


  • Wednesday 6th April; From 20:00 Gametime, 7 hours later for USA group

Event Location :


  • Planet 3 (Beagle Point Star System); -66.06 / 122.06 (see landing guide below)

Description :


  • A free-for-all fight to the death - last man standing wins.
  • Competitors meet at a designated location.
  • All the SRVs enter the arena.
  • Spectators in SRVs and ships gather around the arena (warning: be aware of SRV weapons fire at this event).
  • When the signal is given, all SRVs are to fight to the death... shooting at and ramming each other until one SRV remains.
  • If an SRV is forcibly pushed off the cliff, or leaves of his own accord, he is eliminated.
  • Above the arena hovers two stationary sniper ships - their job is to "laser the arena". Basically the snipers randomly and continuously reign down laser fire into the arena. If the SRVs below drive through the laser fire they'll obviously take more damage than usual. The snipers are not to pick on specific competitors, but they should concentrate their fire wherever a melee is taking place. (This will make for great video!)
  • Snipers with beam lasers fitted would be idea, but anything not too overpowered will do.
  • Competitors are advised to stock up on repair and ammo materials prior to the event.



Match 1 - Arena 2 :
SRVs enter the Uthina Arena and fight in a free-for-all death match.
2 designated snipers from the spectators gallery pepper the Arena with weapons fire.
The last 2 surviving SRVs qualify for the final.

Match 2 - Arena 2 :
Minus the 2 previous qualifiers, SRVs enter the Uthina Arena and fight in a free-for-all death match.
2 different designated snipers from the spectators gallery pepper the Arena with weapons fire.
The last 2 surviving SRVs qualify for the final.

Match 3 - Arena 2 :
Minus the 4 previous qualifiers, SRVs enter the Uthina Arena and fight in a free-for-all death match.
2 different designated snipers from the spectators gallery pepper the Arena with weapons fire.
The last 2 surviving SRVs qualify for the final.

The Final - Arena 1 :
The 6 qualifying SRVs enter Arena 1 (The 'Spit'), and fight to the death. Last SRV standing wins.
No sniper fire will occur during the final (unless its got nil-nil written all over it and then we'll unleash the snipers!).

Can I be a sniper? been waiting for an excuse to fire my weapons - could someone PM me comms channel also thanks :) - I'll be there, and if anyone wants to put one of their SRV's up against my plasma 4 that should make for a great vid :)

You may want to rethink the "any weapons will do" line.

The Corvette and that cannon would wipe a close in melee with one broadside.

The event will be coordinated in FleetComm, the prospectors channel.

Too bad that again instancing made me miss Destruction Derby, really hoping to get to the wedding and to see Ed at the evening.
Which brings me to question; what timeframe that wedding is scheduled?
I probably have to wing up with someone at the wedding instance to make sure to get there..

Educating Ed Special: The Distant Worlds - Landing at Beagle Point 65,000LY from Sol.

During the livestream, Ed Lewis will be arriving at Darwin's Legacy after his epic quest to catch up to the fleet (using no dev trickery I might add!).

We've also heard rumors that the elusive CMDR Salomé will be around.

The evening will be rounded of with the Beagle Point Wedding!

CMDR Jonathan Thal will wed the former Imperial Slave, Elina, in what will be the most distant wedding from Sol, ever.

Sorry to do this to you Erimus, but chan you update the start time by half an hour to 18:30 on the Treehouse event? :)

Corbin has pointed out to me that both this and the Sagittarius-Carina event were due to start at the same time. The time shift should give them time to complete distraction free.
