Additions and Amendments to Beagle Point Week.


A heads up that Tuesday's SRV Destruction Derby has been moved to Wednesday, and Wednesday's Podar and Asterous trips have been switched to Tuesday.

Also, an additional event "Missing Man Formation" has now been added and will occur on Saturday, during the 'Campfire' event (same place and time as 'Campire').


And finally, a reminder that Round 1 of Whack-a-Rat is tonight (Sunday 3rd) at 20:00 Gametime (7 hours later for USA group). If you're interested please be at Darwin's Legacy basecamp around 20:00 Gametime. We'll sort roles out at the time of the event. If you're interested in helping officiate, please turn up too!

Early indications say that we'll need twice as may SRV rats as we do Hunters & Spotters to make it work as well as possible. Also bare in mind that this will be the first ever attempt at this game concept so if it fails miserably, we'll be reverting to plan B : a cross country 30 km "SRV deathchase" from Darwin's Legacy to the top of Sanctuary Hill (shooting and ramming of fellow competitors is highly encouraged :D).

So how does one actually join in events like these? I did some instance hopping last night around 10pm (GMT+1) to see if I could find a test run of whack-a-rat, but had no such luck. Fortunately, I eventually got into a bit of SRV racing which was fun, albeit joining little late. I'm leaning towards being a spotter myself, depends on whether I can find out if SRVs still reappear if they get destroyed by weapons fire and they're your only one.

When it gets going, get in touch with someone who is in the instance and get them to wing you in. For example me :)

6 commanders did a test run yesterday night. (ir should i say this morning?)
4 reached the finish line while 2 srv did blow up, including me...

Our final result was that the course is doable, but a litte care is adviced.

I'd be interested in being a rat tonight.

I won't be able to do a test run though, I can log on about half an hour before the key gathering. I have 5 repairs, plenty of fuel and can respawn the SRV be relogging - what can go wrong? :D

Commander, as you can see in post #46 I managed to destroy my SRV last night. I just checked and logged into the game shortly
and found that I have my SRV replaced, so I say it's still working. :)

Just crashed with match making connection error, saw stream go too. ED networking is really bad. Hope FD fixes it or these events will never be what they could be.

Same here totally unable to get into an instance after being kicked out of a lively populated one. I'll ty again later but it's looking like I'm missing the event tonight if this continues.
I'll give it a few days but if the instancing issue continues I may head back.

Disappointing that we are all there at the meeting point, but can't see each other due to different instances... I thought we meet all together :mad:

There's a large instance growing for whack a rat - if players want to join it please wing up with Dr Kaii or Kamzel, enter the instance, then leave the wing.
