[Distant Worlds] "Beagle Point Week"

Sorry to do this to you Erimus, but chan you update the start time by half an hour to 18:30 on the Treehouse event? :)

Corbin has pointed out to me that both this and the Sagittarius-Carina event were due to start at the same time. The time shift should give them time to complete distraction free.

No probs.. fixed :)

I'm sorry, but I have to cancel the Missing Man, or at least my part in it. I don't really have the time to prepare it (RL suddenly reared its attention-seeking head).

To be honest, I think it's a little late anyway - most people left yesterday, and the rest - even me - is tired and restless. But if any of you guys want to go through with it, go ahead & make it awesome. :)

I am proud of you guys. A great achievement. From one of the guys who did not make it there, a huge Well done. My heros are the rock rats at the moment!!!

(FYI: Developed Psoriasis of the Hands with a horrendous itch which prevented putting in the necessary hours at the controls). Pallaeni looks strange with no one else about, though. (Grin)

Thanks for putting together this awesome expedition! I was wishing that maybe a Thargoid Trader would have come by to meet the cmdr's that made the journey and offered a 100ly jump drive to all that made it! that would have been nice. ( I even brought Meta Alloy to trade with...[yesnod]!)

Oh well.....thanks again! didn't think i was going to make it, but I did and i'm happy with that!

Before I leave Beagle Point once and for all this evening :

Greetings from Asterous - The 'Northern' Meridian,
and its many many... nothing!

65424 LYs away from SOL

I think this will be the farthest system I'll be able to reach during the first Distant World Expedition as I'm out of jumponium now.
I already have a goal for the next one : go farther next time!

DW: Have a good journey home!

Remember that last planetary stop you made for FSD injection synthesis minerals?

Remember that noise you heard in the bulkhead taking off again?

...Did you look behind your pilot's seat lately?

WEll I finally left the Beagle with a few tears in my eyes. I will genuinely miss all the friends I have made. I hope I will see you all around, and if you do see, stop and say hello, its all I ask! Good luck to all you fellow travellers and your future quests. Particularly thank you too the organizers and admins. I salute you all. Live long and prosper!

Hey, I hate to be a spoilsport, but may we please reopen the main thread until the 5/31 deadline?

Erimus will be starting the second thread today. Watch out for it. As Qohen said, it's a singularity thread - the forum gets twitchy with threads too long and 10,000 is the limit set by Brett C :)

Well, after spending hours fruitlessly searching for enough Jumponium at Beagle Point to take the same route back (Cadmium seems to be afraid of me), I took a leap of faith and left BP. Lo and behold, I found a way back to the safer parts of space all by myself, using up only 2 J2 and 9 J1. And a lot of fingernails while burning down fuel. I now can't return to BP unless I come back with a longer-legged ship or go prospecting again, something I don't see me doing in the next few weeks. (I'm a spaceship captain, not a driver.)

Next steps: Find a more western route across the abyss, catch up with the arrivals list, look forward to the slow and beautiful way home. (And finally play XCOM2.)

Thanks for an amazing journey, everyone.

Canyon racing Sounds fun. I've acquired a love for boosting my Anaconda through tight canyons...

I left BP last night, for the final time on this expedition, still two or three CMDR's there, and headed for the Treehouse. Today, it's the start of my next mission, and I hope to meet up with some of you on the way!

It was quite an interesting feeling, coming across some of my previously visited systems, the ones I went to trying to find a route to BP on my first trip out to Ceeckia, (which failed, I came within 160LY of BP with my 31.7LY range Asp), it seems I went just about everywhere, except the route I actually needed to have taken! Now, with a near 39LY Anaconda, it almost seemed too easy.

On my departure, I dropped my 1T of Lavian Brandy, which I presume Kamzel will appreciate, seeing as he seems to wish to retire at BP. I'm sure the Lavian Brandy will help him welcome future guests. Now onward, to new adventures and discoveries!

Z...
