Bring back the bourbon - CG Guide

I have a challenge for those who like to race.
What is the minimum time for a round trip from Azeban City, Eranin to Mansfield Orbiter, Epsilon Indi with 12 tons of Eranin Pearl Whisky for the CG, and back to dock in Azeban City.
I had a go before work this morning, but crashed into a white dwarf.

Just winged up for a thorough Rares run. Great fun, and now about to complete it less than two snaps.

HEADS UP!

Azure Milk is also available at George Lucas in LEESTI...
It doesn't count for the CG though. Also, if anyone does take it, or other legal rare goods to Mansfield Orbiter. Don't forget to sell these goods at the Commodities Market as well as sell your CG alcohol and other illegal goods at the blackmarket. It's an easy thing to forget.

Yes, it doesn't count for the CG, but it is a good incentive; that stuff is properly rare.

The whole Lave cluster is a good incentive. Rather than wait in the station for rare spawns, it's better to hop to one of the other rare goods stations and back.

route stopover
Long 1 Epsilon Indi [Federation - Corporate - Agriculture], cruise 2mins/143ls to Mansfield Orbiter (L,BM) , next -> 52.96LY to Eranin (Azeban City)
Long 2 Eranin [Alliance - Confederacy - Agriculture], cruise 2mins/294ls to Azeban City (L,BM) buy 8 Eranin Pearl Whiskey for 1620 (12960) (often illegal), next -> 118.78LY to Leesti (George Lucas)
Long 3 Leesti [Independent - Dictatorship - High Tech], cruise 2mins/268ls to George Lucas (L) buy 7 Azure Milk for 4123 (28861) and/or 14 Leestian Evil Juice for 457 (6398)(often illegal), next -> 76.58LY to HIP 59533 (Burnham Beacon)
Long 4 HIP 59533 [Independent - Cooperative - Extraction], cruise 17mins/529325ls to Burnham Beacon (M) buy 16 Burnham Bile Distillate for 806 (12896), next -> 197.34LY to Wuthielo Ku (Tarter Dock)
Long 5 Wuthielo Ku [Empire - Corporate - Agriculture], cruise 2mins/174ls to Tarter Dock (L) buy 17 Wuthielo Ku Froth for 420 (7140) (often illegal), next -> 192.60LY to Epsilon Indi (Mansfield Orbiter)

Yeah, this is the route I came up with too. Built a distance flyer ASP to collect the stuff with only 64 tons of cargo space (since that's all you really need). Flew in Open for most of the trip, but just couldn't do it when I went into Epsilon Indi, couldn't let that much effort get blown to bits, lol.

Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge

So here are the Rules for the Buckystyle Bootleggers Bourbon Challenge Race

Basically you must complete a circuit of the 4 (Short) or 5 (Long) stations in the fastest possible time. Times will be logged and a leaderboard published approximately daily.

If you want to take a big boat out (large landing pad), or you just don’t fancy the 17 minute SC to Burnham Beacon, choose the Short Circuit - EPSILON INDI, ERANIN, LEESTI, WUTHIELO KU. If you are made of sterner stuff, take the Long Circuit and add HIP 59533

The minimum delivery for a qualifying time is 1t of each of the 4 (Long) or 3 (Short) Rares. This is primarily to allow CMDRs to enter the race in smaller ships for the fun of it. I would strongly suggest that if your ship can haul a decent amount, then do it – that is after all the point of this CG, but if you want to run 4t in a super lightweight Asp Ex, I guess that’s ok.

To post a qualifying time you must provide the following screenshots, all ‘full screen’ of the Commodities Market or Black Market (Mansfield) showing the Legal Drugs section, time and ship type (please note, the forum no longer allows direct image upload, you will have to use Imgur etc. links) –
1 - Your start time – at Mansfield Orbiter with no qualifying rares on board
2,3,4, (5) - At the various stations having bought the qualifying Rare
Final – Back at Mansfield showing your haul of Rares just before you sell them (this will be the black market screen)

Your time will be the difference between the clock on the first and final screenshots

Entries should be posted on this thread, please state your ship type, ship name and time along with your image links

Classes – There will be (Short & Long) …
… an overall leader, simply the best time in any ship
… best time in each ship type

Jumponium fuel synthesis is allowed, no holds barred. It’s a fair old total distance, so those materials should run out pretty quick. You can fly in Solo, Open or Mobius for this, just get that booze to Mansfield any way you can!

There will also be a separate Tea-Baggers Big Bloaty Boat Class. For this one I want to see your ‘Condas, Cutters Corvettes etc. loaded to the max. The winner will be (per ship type) the boat carrying the largest load of qualifying Rares. No time will be required for this one and you can max out on one Rare only – however, in the event of a tie, a good mixed cargo will take the prize (judges discretion). Amusing screenshots/videos of the load operation may also be taken into consideration :D. Evidence for this one is just your CM shot at Mansfield showing your qualifying cargo. Don’t forget to credit your loading crew on your entry.
<edit>If Tea-Baggers wish to re-distribute their load at Mansfield, I will take cargo inventory screenshot taken prior to the commencement of Limpet Wars as evidence<\edit>

NEW CLASSES...

I am introducing a new class for the Buckystyle Bourbon Bootleggers Challenge in an effort to encourage rapid delivery of booze for the goal...

Ladies & Gentlemen, please prepare your ships for The Eranin Sprint Class

The objective here is to start at Mansfield, scream over to Eranin and bring back some Pearl Whisky in the shortest time. It's a 2 jump run in the right ship (Asp Ex or DB Ex), so I'm confident it can be done in 10 minutes. You might even do it in one jump with Jumponium fuel synthesis trickery! I've managed 12 minutes on a test run with a couple of issues - had to reselect jump target twice and follow a s l o o o w NPC T9 out of Azeban.

Have a go whenever you dock at Mansfield and add an extra 12t for the cause. You won't make much money but you'll be bringing us closer to Tier 8

------------------------------------

I have received a request from one of our veteran Tea-Baggers to introduce a new entry class for CMDRs making the run back from Leesti to Epsilon Indi, so here it is...

Please ready your ships for the Indi 109 Tea-Baggers Delivery Dash class

It's the fastest time from George Lucas (launch pad screenshot) to Mansfield Orbiter (black market screenshot showing your illegal booze).

Good luck CMDRs!

P.S. - A quick shout out to the 'Pro' Buckyball Racing Club (BRC) - they also have an event on here if you like racing

This is my route planner for the CG

Forgive me for asking but I'm new to this and would like to get involved. What's the point of the first point of call - Long 1 Epsilon Indi [Federation - Corporate - Agriculture], cruise 2mins/143ls to Mansfield Orbiter (L,BM) - if you don't purchase anything there and just fly straight off 52.96LY to Eranin (Azeban City)? Why not just start at Eranin (Azeban City) and buy the pearls?

Just so it's a round trip I suppose. If you are doing the CG, you will probably be there several times.

Thank you Hat for your dedication to teabagging. I am currently en-route to Leesti and will help to fill up others with Evil Juice. For anyone new, no compensation is asked for, so whoever wants to be filled up just has to have some cargo space, at least 2 collector drones, and the will to get filled with the evil juice from George Lucas (why am I thinking of Spaceballs?).

It is appreciated, but in no way required to help filling whoever is getting his fill. Great also for new players, since they get a lot of rare, expensive commodities, for free! Aaaand, they reach higher tiers in the CG than they would be able to alone!

Why Teabagging?
Glad you asked:
Every rare has a maximum amount you can get. Leestian Evil Juice has a maximum allotment of 14t, so you will get a random amount (sometimes the amount is fixed for CGs) of Leestian Evil Juice, as long as you are below 14t (you will never get more than it would take you to get to 14). As long as you are not full, you will get a new allotment about once every 10 minutes.

So if a roundtrip to your goal takes longer than 10 minutes, than it is more efficient to add all the juice to the load of a single ship, which then gets it to the target. Alternatively it is possible to bank juice, so you can get your cargo full. So just get out of the station, 10km straight ahead out of the no-fire-zone (to avoid fines), look/ask who is getting loaded, and drop your juice. Or just wait to get loaded, there is no real line, whoever asks can get loaded. If you just want a bank, just ask. Warning: never drop to much Juice at once, if there are more than 20 cannisters in space, the older onces will start exploding!

No, seriously, why teabagging?
Ok, ok, you got me there, the real reason to teabag is to hang around in front of a station, chat with friends and strangers alike, fool around, do some bluenosing, be friendly, be stupid, AND at the same time help to push the Community Goal to higher tiers than otherwise possible.

And why is it teabagging?
Because it all started during the last outbreak of a strain of the Cerberus plague in Nespeleve (Cerberus was an extremly dangerous plague that has caused many quarantined stations in the past, nearly getting out of control. After a tremendous combined affort of the so called ~700 Bast-erds, a cure was finally found: Heike Ceremonial Tea). At the beginning the tiers required looked impossible. But by combining our rares we were able to blow through the tiers and prevent another outbreak.

Is there a catch?
Ah, a clever one. There is always a catch. You will find new friends, have a lot of fun, and get more people in the galaxy drunk.

I teabagged, where do I get my badge?
The badges can be found here in different sizes, if you need another one, send me a PM: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=241522
No, we won't police the use of the badge, its a gentlemen's agreement to only wear one, if you have taken part in a tea-party (Boston, Heike, Leesti, wherever ... not neccessarily with tea either)

Remember, fly responsibly, don't drink and fly, or at least make sure you have insurance!

I had a jolly good laugh at your Q & A behind the tea-baggers this morning Craith!! You are as important to the cause as any of us are! I am sorry I had to leave early last night for work today, but I will be back on this evening.

Mr Jupp - thank you for having us along for the party!! We are all for the legalisation of just about anything to be honest, and often for things that are not to be legalised [ask Oude ;)]. I understand that you play Open and that many will choose to make the trip by themselves, but we wanted to make a note of the tea-bagging service being available to any and all if wanted! There is no pre-requisite either, so any pair of pilots can set up their own bagging service as Craith has explained! I prefer doing it this way just because it is a bit of good fun, but that is of course a personal choice - it also is a good way to help out newer players by filling them up with a big paycheck worth of goods!!

Anyway, all joking aside, when there are not enough pilots to operate a proper bagging service, we all make our own ways there and back like all other players - it simply serves as a humorous excuse to have a bit of social fun in the ships, and often get up to mischief!! We hope to see any of you around over the next few days if you want to have a go - if you are unsure, then anyone is always welcome to friend me in game, or PM me on here. But rest assured if we are not bagging, then we will be pushing the CG ourselves on an individual basis, so we are all in it for the CG to succeed.

Cheers everyone,

The Hat :)

PS: Recent mischief witnessed at such tea-bagging has involved blue/purple nosing, landing ships on ships, making 3D shapes out of multiple ships, and then the most recent hilarity of NPC-pinball with all the weird NPC ships that turn up and do nothing - Ninj, I still always laugh when I think back to the poor end of that Asp who forgot shields and suffered the wrath of the Hulk!!! :D

Nice one Zoy! :D

My main CMDR is 33Kly away and flying in the wrong direction, but I will be sending my second CDMR the raikobot to the Indi Bourbon CG this weekend anyway, both to support the community driven unlocking of rares, and specifically to try to unlock the Bourbon before I run this year's Bootlegger Challenge in August. Plus I love smuggling CGs the best anyway! :)

You running a Buckyball style race there just makes it better, so CMDR the raikobot will certainly be entering. :D Not sure what I'll be flying yet, but I'll be hauling as much as I can manage.

My second account is non-Horizons anyway, so unfortunately I'm just a spectator at Alec's race.

Well you actually deserve some of the credit - it was your Black Riband smuggling Buckyball race that first introduced me to Buckyball racing :)

I love the work Zoy has done in linking together the BRC, the CG rares runners, and believe it or not the tea-baggers! But if the BRC want no affiliation with anyone professing ot be a tea-bagger, then I can understand [nudge nudge, wink wink and so on ;) !!!]

Anyway, I have just put up a new post in the CG thread as there has been new interest in tea-bagging ways of doing the rares CGs, and I am firmly behind this CG succeeding without question. Therefore I don't intend to appear sociopathic, but I am going to copy the text here along with the CG thread link, as it may get more pilots who are unaware of the CGs as a whole involved - I hope nobody minds.

The CG thread works for each and every CG as almost all of you know, but it can be found here; aka - CG thread # 5:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=232105

And the long and wandering post I just put up with all its beautiful euphemisms to try and encourage folks to come have a laugh, but to not bring great big shipping container type ships, is just copied and pasted. Apologies for its verbosity, but I do have brain-farts at times, and then these sort of posts happen!! Enjoy:-

I will be a sad and disappointed tea-bagger if we don't manage to attract some more mentalists to our silly games Red, let alone for the actual purpose of achieving the said goal !!!

I hope to be rooting around somewhere in George's backpocket around 18:00 game time, hoping to find some of his recent profit royalties. If not, I mean to start touting for business as seen with previous business ventures, so we can get some serious bagging done. But please don't bring massive ships to fill up , as it kind of annoys people and if we are running thing like AspX or DBX ships, then we can fill them up and they return to assist the person that was filling them up. It is not a hard and fast rule of course, but is just something that I think suits a good small group of players loading up - say between 3 and 6 players can then fill a ship up in less than one shopping run each, and it helps to spread the love and fairness to all.

[But please don't take this as an assertion of annoyance to any player at all - I only brought my python for the tea-runs as I was a glutton for punishment, and had no idea that I was letting myself in for a 59 jump round trip each time!! It just seems to work out a lot better and fairer for everyone, so people don't feel that they are continually filing up for 3 hours for no reward themselves. We like to think tea-bagging is an altruistic or almost existential hobby for each and everyone, so let's keep it a good bit of fun for things like these rare-CGs, which is kind of how it started out best to begin with]

There is of course no obligation to tea-bag whatsoever on this or any CG, but I note that there has been new interest shown on this thread, and forgive me for not replying to it before now: yes we normally run in Mobius, but I know Shawnski was doing a similar thing in Open with the Tea CG, so I know that many people are happy to switch modes, as long as there are no gankers around. The best trick is to check the contacts on the left hand UI, or go to the comms menu, then see if there are any other CMDRs in the local area. If there are, begin shouting out random things about booze or whatever takes your fancy, and I am sure you will attract the right kind of attention! If Ninj is around, offer up "free games of pinball" and he will be there like a puppy with a bone!! [sorry dude haha!!]

One benefit of this being at a coriolis, is that the NFZ is only about 4.3km out, so try to line up about 5km out the front and shout about your business - I promise you that if I am there I will come and say hi, shout rude things as well [well, naughty things ;) ], and help load you up. Once business begins, the tea-baggers all arrive and it snowballs. I hope to be on a lot longer this evening [UK time] but if I don't see you myself, look out for Craith, Oudeman, Ninj, and the many many other ambassadors of the tea-bagging union!! We will have you filled up in no time, and I will see you over the weekend if not tonight. [And I know I will have forgotten many names to suggest, so please don't take any offence to it - you all know I am the least offensive person in the world, just like my avatar and pilot's licence testify to]

Together we will bust this CG open, whether we bag it or not - if nobody is around I will run off to EI myself with 28T, but will be back and looking for new recruits and old dogs alike! See you soon folks, but always remember it is just a bit of fun, and nothing serious at all, unless you are a shieldless NPC!! Laters all,

The Hat :)

PS: Any euphemistic comments in the above text, are completely intentional. 'Tis the way of the tea-bagger!
PPS: No CMDR names have been omitted intentionally or otherwise - it is just what my small brain can recall at any one time whilst I am burning my TV dinner!!
PPPS: PM me on here or friend me in game if you want any help, and I won't think you are daft for asking :)
PPPPS: How many P's are allowed in postscripts? Is there a rule, or is it just that I am a donut?!
