Diamond frogs are supported by a very large array of player groups including sirius inc of course, EIC, EXO the big Xbox group who may not be aware to the PC audience but are massive and de vinci corp , cant remember the rest i think dark armada are in there as well

We have to be favourites at this point of time

I wouldn't go as far as to say we're favorites but we do have a sizable group of pilots on which to rely and great organizational leadership from all of the represented factions within GalCop.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The Border Coalition has some 600+ pilots in its three main groups alone. They've also got an incredible amount of knowledge and experience manipulating the BGS, powerplay and in organizing CG completion. Of course, numbers aren't really conclusive for anyone at this point because who knows who the main powerplay groups will support (there's no chance they'll stay neutral, a new player is going to shake things up so they need to make sure the most beneficial one for them wins), whose PR machine will be most affective in swaying unaligned cmdrs being undetermined, and we have no idea what the DG will actually look like. In the advent that groups are eliminated tournament-style, though, I suspect that if groups like SEPP and the ICU get knocked out early their players would back the Coalition as the next best thing. Add to that AEDC having large numbers and a high degree of skill + probably the support of every random alliance player who happens to drift by the CG (where as the other contenders are all independents) and SEPP having managed to make massive BGS changes despite the fact that their group is small and frequently out too deep in the black to be active, plus they're favorites of the explorer community.

GalCop is certainly a heavyweight, but it's certainly not the only one, and I suspect your advantage might not be so large as you think :)

Most groups have people with a large knowledge on how bgs works. or how powerplay works then there is the release of 2,1 And its beta i do not know when the 4 week CG starts and ends and if its during or before 2.1 if its during it wil create a new challenge as the game dynamics have changed.and all are at zero .

Also one dedicated Cmdr with time to burn is worth 10 or 20 casuals. This is going to be very interesting. I'm expecting lots of mud slinging, especially as it's already started.

BRING ON THE GAMES!

I think many of you forget about circa 1399000 other players apart from the contender faction members who also have a choice :)

Curious as to why Social Eleu Progressive Party [SEPP] is in italic text in the poll. Someone trying to send a secret message, or playing subliminal games ?

Are you saying that as a FDev Forum Moderator, or as leadership of The Winged Hussars?

I seem to recall that Agony Aunt got into a little hot water for suggesting that one of the Powers was up for culling.

Do the mods know something from FDev, or was that just a guess like the rest of us?

The community goal should be either delivering stuff at a loss, or fighting in a Combat Zone, since these are the 2 main activities that make up Power Play.

If its delivering stuff at a loss, the group that can get the most rich players with Imperial Cutters supporting them wins. Total player numbers are meaningless, just like in Power Play.

Making the proposed powers attractive to non aligned players, and all the players not interested in PP is the key to winning.

I'd still put my money on one of the 2 Federation or 2 Imperial groups in the wildcard.

INRA as a wildcard as a combined federation and imperial powerplay faction ( now that would be freaky)

I'm just talking about the rest of the player base, that's all.

P.S. Contrary to the popular believe, moderators have no access to any news, secrets or any other information that the rest of the community doesn't :) All we can do is ban you, is all :D

I would think that in the end its not the size of the player groups competing, but the size of the player base willing to support the contestants that will matter, be they PP players or PP agnostics. A further factor would be the number of players that contestants had managed to annoy in the past who are willing to oppose them or side with the contestant best placed to stop them. Anyone who claims to know what the outcome will be is almost certainly speaking out of their derriere!

You just described the Diamond Frogs! 648 frogs and counting, multiple systems in our control, and hey...free vipers for newbies? That was us.

Add in the rest of Galcop, and ...well. Words and actions, words and actions.

No but you do have better access to the ears of FDev.
And in any conversation there are clues to be had.

All we can do is ban you, is all :D

Well, quite.

Actually I sort of enjoy getting the occasional infraction.
I think the other Mods figured that out and just edit me or shuffle me off to some unread corner of the forum.
That stuff stings more.

It's the denial of voice, which I think is an under explored theme here.
I'd like to name players without worrying too much.
It's the players who are making this exciting.

I seem to have gotten away with it a lot lately in the discussions around the potential new leaderships. But every time I post, I'm second guessing about who's "on duty" and how respectful I have to be while desperately wanting to tell some truth.

I'd like to see an extension of voice.
I believe Player Groups should be able to post to their Bulletin Boards for the stations they rule.
Directly, with a bare minimum of mainly automated moderation.

Ship names.
Player generated minor faction decals.

Bad fan fic for all!

So that's how come we don't have the permit access to Polaris. I knew it! A Thargoid conspiracy! ;)
