So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Would any one use this .,.. ......,. ... As a system discovery name? I though I had made a first discovery of a system but when I turned in the data-nothing.

Glad to see tinfoil is back on track o7

If Frontier releases an aluminum foil paint job for the Asp Explorer you know what I'll be flying! I need something to match my rift-ready spacesuit:

Theory made and tested, can't knock that - but it is a long way for one system. There's still quite a large area of actual rift that needs 'conda range to enter if you look on EDDiscovery - any help tri-laterating the maze of systems there would be much appreciated I'm sure, and there's only a few more days until trilating becomes a thing of the past too

Hi, I don't understand why you say trilateration will be dead- can you clarify?

Dear LuckyLuke.

I cannot thank you enough for the superb new Rift thread.

When I approached you to see if you were willing to convert you consise google doc of all the rift theories and discoveries into a new forum thread because the OP of the 2nd thread was absent and it was becoming outdated and difficult to gather up to date thinking without wading through dozens of pages; it was because your google doc seemed to have almost everything covered to some extent and was quite well ordered.

What you have managed to produce exceeds my expectations exponentially. I am blown away by the professional way you have laid out all the pertinent pieces of information in a clear and organised way and provided links back to all the original sources.

I can only imagine the time you took to restructure, update, format, check and produce this. We have a great core (or should I say CoR) of dedicated rifters in this thread and on discord and I am confident that as this mystery unfolds, we and everyone else will solve it with the aid of this invaluable resource and focal point for all the important information.

Well done LuckyLuke.

As this is all about Drew's mystery, ideally he will cast an eye over this new thread and suggest some edits himself to guide us!

Regards

Commander Zach.

Ah, I hadn't heard that. Thanks!
Does that mean EDD & EDSM will both become redundant?
No, they will be required to read the coords from the log file, and display them. Its just the need for manual trilateration that will be dead, unless of course, you wish to graffiti the Galaxy Map like some space faring street scum

Could the UAs be part of this? Part of the clues for that was the 7 sisters and with the rift it the 7 veils. Nebulae have been described as rifts before in other literature's.
Very tinfoily to me.

LOL, I thought the Coriolis station was a nice touch
thanks Dom!

I'm reading And Here The Wheel right now and came across one paragraph:

"It's not over till the Cobra parks at the Tionisla Wreckspace," Robert had said. "Let's do what INRA suggests."

Is it the same Cobra from Altera? Are those stories connected? Could someone explain this to me? Thank you.

As someone who has, until this point, only lightly followed the FDev injected material I thank you for this consolidation of Rift info, Luke.

I think once the Rise to Power wraps up I might just have to put together an exploraconda and start heading that way.

I think Drew said that the Rift and the UAs are separate issues. Too tired right now to find the reference though.

He did

I think it's always worth remembering not just what you or we know, but what They know. They - be they Fed/ImpINRA/DW/some shady lot we don't know yet know more than we do. They know what Thargoid tech looks like, They know what's hidden in the Rift, They know what happened to SS1

The Rift stuff is kept deeply secret, the UA stuff is happening in the wide open and noone recognises the tech and the Thargoid situation is tucked away behind some post-war treaty that we're not privy to. They all exist in partial isolation - I'm sure there'll be some cross-talk but these are all different threats not being linked together by those who know more already. The rift threat is referred to as [strike]'worse than the thargoids'[strike]"and they thought the Thargoids were trouble" and as being intentionally hidden in the fed/imp databanks - they wouldn't be letting such public action as the UA mystery point everyone towards it
