Game Discussions The No Man's Sky Thread

I think he's drawing a vivid picture about the state of the genre and its lack of games rather than making a specific comment about an aspect of ED.

Nothing disappointed me more than ED and their updates.

at that time any other space game being released already would be like finding an oasis in the desert.

Personal taste. I've loved ED since Alpha and each update has only enriched the game for me more. To each their own. There's enough Space for all of us :)

That is an honest opinion, then the next question would be, is ED really a game for you? some times people just buy the wrong stuff.
Maybe you would feel a lot better in a NMS forum? Playing a game one doesn't like, lurking around forums concerning a game one doesn't like, really sounds like a waste of time.

Has any one got a clue about the differences between the PS4 and PC versions? I intend to buy it, but I am not sure for which platform. Normally I would go pc, but it feels more like a PS4 game that the family would play, so I am swinging towards PS4.

In fairness, fan forums for pretty much anything seem to be mostly people talking about how much they hate the thing they're on a forum for!

Thanks - not sure they really say a lot - but the mods part on pc is interesting.

if I am not mistaken, we will playing online regardless of rather we encounter people or not. Which means MODs may not be allowed unless there is an offline mode. I'm planning to get the game on PS4 40 inch TV FTW. NMS's FM doesnt strike me as something that will need a HOTAS or TrackIR(if it even will work on the game).

The developer already said he supports the idea of implementing mods in the game, however there is nothing a level that interferes with the core gameplay, such as creating a new planet.

As has already been said that you will be able to play the game offline.

We will see.

Is there an official No Man's Sky forum somewhere? I can't stand how Reddit works, prefer a good old forum... (I think this might be the start of my decline into grumpy-old-man-hood!)

Quite an old video - but I find it really inspiring!

...pure alchemy...

Just make sure you watch the last minute.

At that point life will be complete as you will discover the meaning of life hidden at the centre:

This is all I can think about when it's a 'race to the center':

Meh. It's Kotaku... not exactly the best gaming news source ;)

The GameStop corporate pics lend this enough credence for me, right now. Could be a photoshop troll-lol-lol...again, wait and see. Althought they have not updated their website...

Well, let's be honest, this won't be the last computer program that's had its release delayed, and it's surely not the first.

So it's disappointing but barely worth a shrug imho.

I just hope Sean et al are not feeling the heat too much, I'd guess being in bed with a major publishing company could be a mixed blessing for an indi development house.

If its delayed, its delayed. I don't mind that. The main advantage is it will be a finished game when it is released. Nowadays with indie devs, that seems to be an added bonus. ;)
I can wait, if true.

Will it? He hints at adding more traditional multiplayer and VR support down the line. That doesn't sound like a finished game. What games are released truly finished these days any more?

The fact that this is broken by Kotaku and not HG is disappointing - it's not like they don't do enough interviews to casually mention not being able to meet their ship date. If this rumor is true, and since Sony hasn't denied it quickly it probably is... they would've known a long time ago they weren't going to meet the release date and should've said so.

Well, I hope everything works out ok - still interested in giving it a whirl if there's enough meat on the bones. I hear all this talk about delaying it to add PSVR support, but - eh, they didn't plan for it, didn't design the UI with VR in mind, and have zero experience making VR content... I don't think that's a job done quite so quickly at this point. I'd love to be wrong, it seems silly to make a space sim without VR support these days...
